Early Original 1900's Pair of Stained Glass Oak Cabinet Doors
Up for auction is an original matching set of stained& beveled glass cabinet doors taken from a Milwaukee bungalow that was built in 1918. There are no cracks or damage of any kind. One piece of the glass has a minor imperfection. It is not a crack or a scratch but it is a line that is a little over an inch. I tried to photograph it but it would not show up in the pictures. I am just trying to be upfront. It is surrounded in beautiful oak that has a great patina. One door measures 20& 3/4 inches tall. 14& 11/16 inches wide. The glass is a clear with different textures and a great design. Each door has approx 142 jewels! They were originally standard double entrance doors. At some point the knobs were removed and holes were patched. The then installed double action hinges to swing back and forth. Push bars were added at the same time as those hinges. They each measure 27 inches wide by 89 tall and are almost 2 inches thick. Each glass panel is 16 inches wide by 76.5 tall. Overall they are in very good condition. They measure 78 1/2" in length, and 1 3/4" thick. Each stained glass insert measures 19" wide, and 62 1/2" in length. One of the stained glass panels has some damage, but it would be an easy repair for a good stained glass repairman. The doors are heavy wood, but show some damage ... moretoward the bottom.
