This set is in excellent ... morecosmetic and mechanical condition with only the typical signs of wear and use. Although the design on the lock and door plates are often refered to as the"Ceylon" pattern. That name was limited to the knob design seen with this set. This set includes a matching strike plate that has been opened up a bit, but otherwise looks fine. The switch on the face plate of the lock allows the door to be closed in a prelocked position and the included latch bolt key is needed to properly utilize this feature. The set includes one bronze faced reversible entry mortise lock. Two"Ceylon" pattern knobs, one large door plate and round knob escutcheon, matching strike plate, single keyhole cover, and both the latchbolt and deadbolt keys. Also included is a reconditioned knob spindle with new set screws. The set screw holes have been deburred so the screws turn in easily. This is a very nice functioning lock set ready to be installed. The mortise lock's backset to the keyhole is 2 5/8" and the face plate is 6 13/16" tall x 1" wide. The lock box is 4 5/8" tall x 5/8" thick x 3 9/16" deep. The large door plate is 7 1/4" tall x 1 15/16" wide. The knobs are 2 1/4" in diameter. This is a wood oval beveled glass entry door. I measures 31 3/4" x 78 1/2" x 1 3/4" It has a 1 1/4" oval beveled glass window. It is painted on the exterior side and has never been stained or painted on the interior. It is in good overall condition with typical dings for its age. It does not come with hardware. The hardware is being sold in a separate auction. The door was originally set installed with surface hinges and has a right hand swing. I also have a second matching door that has some condition problems. If you are interested in the second door. I would sell it for $150.00 plus s&h for it. Here is a great old painted entry door w/glass that was removed from a home that was built in the 1920's or 30's. All of the hardware is included: 3) surface-mounted hinges and complete lockset(minus key) This type of door is really not well-suited for exterior use. They were typically found inside of a covered porch or entry as this one was. The glass pane is fully intact with no cracks or breaks. It is flat glass with no bevels or ornamentation. Both sides of the door are painted, one side is white and the other has a faux-finish that's supposed to look like wood. There are a few nicks and gouges throughout, but these could ... moreeasily be addressed if the door was to be painted. There is also what looks like a longitudinal crack on the bottom rail(it shows on the white side, see pics) as well as a crack near the bottom of the latch-side stile(see pics) The lockset is complete. The door is made of solid, old pine and is painted on both sides. If you think that pine is a weak. Soft wood; please keep in mind that the wood milled from modern pine trees, which only grow for a few decades before they are cut down, is not the same quality as the wood that was milled by our forefathers from trees that were hundreds of years old. This door was built using the wood from mature pine trees, and exhibits the qualities of wood that has endured the test of time. As a result, it's physically harder, less susceptible to warping and twisting, and more insect and rot resistant than today's pine lumber. The door has an arched top with 4 raised panels on both sides. Quirks& ... moreConsiderations: The door originally had a 5th panel at the bottom. The door has a solid pine core covered with 1/4" thick, quatersawn oak veneers on the exterior side, and 1/4" thick heartpine veneers on the interior side. The door is painted on both sides. Please note that heartpine is the non-living. Core of a pine tree, and not the soft, outer, living sap-wood. Since it takes 30 years for a pine tree just to develop just 1” of heart stock it is rarer, harder, more durable, more insect& rot resistant, less susceptible to warping and twisting, and is much more valuable than the cheap, pine lumber that is commonly found at most hardware stores. Also, please don't think that"veneer" ... moremeans inferior quality. Unlike the paper-thin veneers used on modern doors and furniture. These veneers are 1/4" thick and provide strength and stability to the door. The door could be sanded and refinished several times before the door would need to be re-veneered. Bought this original antique walnut Spanish double door entry(made between 1800-1900) from Malaga Spain in 2000 from a famous local collector. All the information regarding the wood. Age and the origin was furnished by the collector. I never installed this door as it has been in the storage since 2000. The door originally was purchased to be installed in the custom Spanish home I designed and built. However the house was sold before the construction was completed and I decided not include it with the concurrence of the Buyer. Penn Antique Restoration. 35.5"x84" Vintage Wrought Iron/Steel Storm Door w/2 Windows& Hardware. Rare. Vintage, exterior door salvaged from New York City. The door is made of wrought iron or steel and features 2 removable window panels with tempered, safety glass. On the exterior side of the door, there is a strip of lovely scrollwork spanning across the center of the door. Directly above and below the strip, are 3, vertical bars and a 2 beautiful, ornate vine, leaf, and acorn motifs. The door and details are painted black. Hardware: The door comes equipped with a handle with push button latch-activator(no key. But currently unlocked) and a lever and latch. There is a bracket on the interior side of the door, in the center to attach a closer, and 2 hinge halves on the exterior side of the door. Penn Antique Restoration. 32"x 83" Antique Exterior Pine Door w/ 1 Wavy Glass Lite& 3 Raised Panels. Amazing. Antique, exterior door salvaged from a Historic home in Northeastern Pennsylvania. The door is made of solid pine, has 1 wavy glass lite and 3 raised panels. Hardware: The door is currently not equipped with any hardware. However. We have a good selection of period hardware to outfit the door(check out our eBay store) If you would like any of the hardware holes patched with a solid block of wood.see"Modification" below. Condition: On the exterior. The strip of wood on the top of the door is chipped in the corner, above the lock stile. Some molding is chipped. The edge of the hinge stile is chipped. The rail below the glass has a crack in it. On the interior, the edge of the lock stile is chipped. The molding ... moreon the bottom panel is chipped and scratched. The rail below the glass lite has a crack in it. Otherwise. This door is in very good shape with only surface scrapes, scratches, small nail holes-minor cosmetic blemishes, which would be removed during the finishing process or covered if painted. Quirks& Considerations: The height and width of the door was unevenly cut by 1/8" at some point. Most likely to accommodate for a warped floor or settling foundation. The small gaps in between the rails and stiles were filled with clear caulk, most likely for insulation. There is a strip of wood on the bottom of the door that adds approx. 1" and another strip of wood on the top of the door to even out the height. We could remove the strips of wood and even out the height and width. See"Modification" below. Refinish/Repaint: We could refinish. The door is made of solid wood, has 9 windows and 4 triangular raised panels. One glass lite is missing. But the rest are fully intact. We could either custom cut a new piece from our collection of old glass, or we could order a new glass lite(i.e. beveled, tempered, leaded, stained, etc. and install it-email us for a quote. The top corner of the hinge stile looks like it was pushed in by something; the top of the lock stile, bottom of the hinge stile, bottom rail, bottom of the lock stile, the crisscrossing rails, the edge of the lock stile and a piece of molding next to the window without the glass are all chipped; there is a break in the middle hinge mortise; a piece of molding above the window without the glass and the bottom portion of the hinge stile are both cracked.
