Soft wood; please keep in mind that the wood milled from modern pine trees, which only grow for a few decades before they are cut down, is not the same quality as the wood that was milled by our forefathers from trees that were hundreds of years old. This door was built using the wood from mature pine trees, and exhibits the qualities of wood that has endured the test of time. As a result, it's physically harder, less susceptible to warping and twisting, and more insect and rot resistant than today's pine lumber. The door has 5. The door has a solid, ash core covered with 1/16" thick, ash veneers. Ash is a hardwood that looks very similar to Oak. The door is finished on one side and painted on the other. There are 6, horizontal, recessed panels on both sides of the door. Also, please don't think that"veneer" means inferior quality. Unlike the paper-thin veneers used on modern doors and furniture. These veneers are almost 1/8" thick and provide strength and stability to the door. There are globs of dried paint stripper on the painted side of the door. And some of the globs on the lower portion have some mold. The globs are not positioned in a logical pattern, and they seem ... morelike the got onto the door by accident. The globs and mold are very easy to remove, and pose no threat to the door whatsoever; we only mentioned this to you so there is no confusion about what the dark spots are. Hardware: The door is equipped with a spring-loaded. Double-action, floor-mounted hinge in the lower, hinge stile corner, and a pivot hinge in the upper corner. The spring-loaded hinge is functional. But whether or not the spring is strong enough to swing the door back and forth will be unknown until installed. There are no push plates or pulls/handles, but we have some in our eBay store. Normal 0 Truly wonderful old original screen door that has been painted with Bee Brand coffee advertising on the screen. I have had this door for about 25 years. I believe it was re painted on the screen and the wording on the wood part of the door which reads"we sell quality" guaranteed" are newer painted.as in maybe 30 years ago. The door has 1 inch added to the width which happened many years ago. Therefore if you needed only 32" you could transition the size easily. Please see picture. As with all things older. 45" wide x 7'0" tall OLD DOOR from HISTORIC CHARLESTON. SC. Marvelous old door that has been stored away for +20 years and just never found a great home to be fitted for. Measures about 45" wide by 84" high. This door may have been removed from a Meeting Street. Charleston, South Carolina residence quite some time ago and is a rare offering indeed. True age is unknown, note the through tenons, light pine or cypress construction, recessed panels and wavy glass. The door was partially stripped of paint way back when to see what was under that white top coat, not many layers of old paint there and it should be easy to complete the preparation for a new finish. I have also just found the mortise lockset with the exterior escutcheon plate and keeper for the lower hole and it will be included. Old Wooden Jail Door (Haunted?)
This jail door came from an penal institution that was closed in Atlantic Canada. Not sure of the exact penetentiary. The construction of the door is identical to cell doors that can be seen at Fort Henry in Kingston Ontario. That was built in 1837. The door measures 33.5 inches across by 71.5 inches tall. There is a very odd presence associated with this piece. Who knows what may have occurred in the cell that it guarded? They say that sometimes. Depending on what had occurred during the time it was on a cell door, the energy of whatever can get transferred to a house, a piece of furniture or in this case a door. There's no doubt that nothing joyous occurred in the cell, that's for sure. Who knows who was on the other side of this cell door, or how many? There is one hinge missing on the side of the door with the grate. But that ... morehinge is for decorative purposes only. The hinges on the door now were added later and can hold the door. Of particular interest are the square nails that were used to fortify the door. There are numerous nails that have been bent back(on the back side of the door) to prevent prisoners from breaking down the door with an axe There is also some wear on the bottom of the door- see picture. Available for pick-up in Hamilton Ontario. I can ship. But shipping costs are unknown. Anything can be shipped by courier however. It weighs approximately 80-90 pounds. Not many of these on the market. It is authentic and a real conversation piece. The ones I have seen on Ebay from the US start at over $1000.00. I once had this hanging on my fence.

This is a very unique relic wooden door or gate from Southwestern America. It could be in a Spanish style. We found this piece to have a very unique look and many possibilities for actual functional use as a architectural piece. It appears to be made of either Hickory or Birch but it is a hard wood used. This piece is very sturdy and strong and has several iron patch repairs which gives it a wonderful look. This piece could be used as a cabinet door or a pass though door it is a very nice size. Soft wood; please keep in mind that the wood milled from modern pine trees, which only grow for a few decades before they are cut down, is not the same quality as the wood that was milled by our forefathers from trees that were hundreds of years old. This door was built using the wood from mature pine trees, and exhibits the qualities of wood that has endured the test of time. As a result, it's physically harder, less susceptible to warping and twisting, and more insect and rot resistant than today's pine lumber. Hardware: Aside from ... morea mortise lock.
