These Oak sections are from a very old house and have several coats of paint on them. They are both the same size, 46 inches long, 19 1/2 inches high and 2 1/2 inches thick. They both have nail holes some chips and scratches. I have others listed and you are welcome to pick them up if you want, instead of shipping them. 30"x79" Antique Exterior Entry Birch Door 2 Long Windows Beveled Glass Lites
Penn Antique Restoration. 30"x79" Antique Exterior Birch Door w/ 2 Long Windows. Beautiful. Antique exterior door salvaged from an old home in Northeastern Ohio. The door has a solid pine core with 1/8" birch veneers and has 2 long windows. Although there are 2 windows. Only 1 beveled glass lite is installed. Unfortunately, we don't have any old glass this size, however, we could order a new glass lite(i.e. beveled. Tempered, leaded, stained, etc. and install it- email us for a quote. The door was originally part of a pair. But we do not have the other door. There are no hardware holes made, except for the hinge mortises. Hardware: The door is currently not equipped with any hardware. However. W e have a good selection of period hardware in our eBay store. And tons more in our physical store. Antique Vintage 2 Panel Interior Door 23X78 F2
Please note: this door has finger joints on the stiles(see pic) Though it is solid wood and not veneered. It looks like these were paint-grade doors that someone had stained instead. These really should be painted! Also,there is a crack near the hole for the lockset(see pic) Here is a 2-panel door removed from an older home. Most likely from the 1950's-60's. The door is in nice overall condition. Though there are scratches, gouges and small holes throughout(see pics) It has a light layer of stain on it, so just a light sanding/hole-filling and it's ready for paint. Any issues with the door are certainly fixable, especially if the door will be painted. Not sure of the wood species but most likely fir or pine. There is no hardware included with the door. There are 2, long, vertical, recessed panels on both sides of the door. Also, please don't think that"veneer" means inferior quality. Unlike the paper-thin veneers used on modern doors and furniture. These veneers are almost 1/4" thick and provide strength and stability to the door. The door could be sanded and refinished several times before the door would need to be re-veneered. Hardware: Although the photos show some hardware installed; the door doesn't come equipped with any hardware. However. When most people hear"pine" they think of a cheap. Weak, and soft wood. New pine hewn from 10- 20 year old trees doesn't have the same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old has. Old pine is also much harder and stronger than young pine. Hardware: The door doesn't come equipped with any hardware. However. Victorian style but marked only 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" I believe these are cast iron but could be thick steel as each weighs nearly 1/2 a pound. They have a great embossed detailed design and the metal is clean and rust free. I did take a pin out and there was quite a bit of rust on it. I believe they were cleaned at some point as the people having the estate liked old metal things and the man liked to work on these objects. They have specks of white residue here and there at the top of some of the pins. But I see no signs of these ever ... morehaving been used other than that.
