The door is made of solid heartpine and has 3 raised panels. Please note that heartpine is the non-living. Core of a pine tree, and not the soft, outer, living sap-wood. Since it takes 30 years for a pine tree just to develop just 1” of heart stock it is rarer. Harder, more durable, more insect& rot resistant, less susceptible to warping and twisting, and is much more valuable than the cheap, pine lumber that is commonly found at most hardware stores. Hardware: Although the photos show some hardware installed; the door doesn't come equipped with any hardware. However. We have a good selection of period hardware to outfit the door(check out our eBay store) If you would like any of the hardware holes plugged with a solid wood. Please email us for a quote. Antique Vintage Interior 6-Horizontal Panel Door 1900s Interior Door with Six Horizontal Panels Nice Ogee Thickness: 1.75 inches Exact measurement: 31.75 x 70 This door was in our 1912 home. It was a service door. And was between the kitchen and the mud room. It has the same design as the doors on our third floor, which was for the live-in help(like I have any! It is different in style from the"formal" doors in what would be called"the family's" area of the house. There is a nice ogee surrounding each panel. There was a towel bar on one side of the door. So there are two screw holes on each side. Please see the photo. These are easily filled and painted over, of course. If you are thinking of stripping and staining the door, those are the only holes in the door(other than the holes for the door knobs, plates, etc. ... moreThe nickle-plated knobs. The nickle-plated back plates, and the brass locking mechanism are NOT included, but were left on to show you the thickness of the door. These pieces MAY be available for purchase separately. I believe it is birch. Since all of the other doors in the house are birch(and I stripped all of them, so I know they were birch) I have not attempted to strip this door. It is heavy. Much heavier than a similar size pine door I have stored in the basement. We weighed it on a bathroom scale, and it is approximately 75 pounds. Measurements: 70 inches tall by 31.75 inches wide. 1.75 inches thick. Much thicker than more modern doors. You can pick this up locally in St. Paul. Here is a great old painted entry door w/glass that was removed from a home that was built in the 1920's or 30's. All of the hardware is included: 3) surface-mounted hinges and complete lockset(minus key) This type of door is really not well-suited for exterior use. They were typically found inside of a covered porch or entry as this one was. The glass pane is fully intact with no cracks or breaks. It is flat glass with no bevels or ornamentation. Both sides of the door are painted, one side is white and the other has a faux-finish that's supposed to look like wood. There are a few nicks and gouges throughout, but these could ... moreeasily be addressed if the door was to be painted. There is also what looks like a longitudinal crack on the bottom rail(it shows on the white side, see pics) as well as a crack near the bottom of the latch-side stile(see pics) The lockset is complete. Vintage Sliding Fire Door & Hardware Commercial Factory Antique Barn Door
1930's fire door 2-1/2" thick 68" wide 92" high on tall side 88" tall on short side. Manufactured by Willis in Galesburg IL. Around the 1930's UL Tags on the door. There is a counter weight attached by a rope to a pulley system that allows the very heavy door to slide open and closed with very little effort. In the event of a fire the rope burns off and the counter weights fall to the floor and the door will automatically slide closed. For sale locally so auction may end at any time if sold. Offered is a lot of three antique Victorian or Edwardian door back plates. As you can see from the pictures all three are in"as found" condition with rust and old paint for a great shabby oh so chic look! The largest of the three is also the heaviest and it measures about 10.75" x 3" at the widest point. It has a molded St. Julian and the number"520" on the back. The two smaller back plates are identical in design. Lighter in weight relative to the St. Julian plate, and have keyhole and doorbell( openings. Each measures about 8& 3/8" x 2& 5/8' at the widest point. They are unmarked. Vintage lot of 3 Glass door knobs + a stem antique
Two vintage glass door knobs on a stem. Also another glass knob but it is not exactly the same design as the pair. Nice art deco. The pair thread on the stem fine and the set screws are good. About 7 inches long including the stem and 2 inches wide. I do not know exactly how old they are but they are old. It has aging and wear. But not much, these look real nice. See photos for condition. I do not see any serious cracks. Dents, repairs, nor damage. It is vintage and in as found condition and will look even better if properly cleaned. All sets have 2 knobs and 2 backplates except for one set that has both knobs but only 1 back plate. All show wear consistent with age(paint. I have an antique cast iron deadbolt lock slide for your consideration. This is original Victorian Eastlake period door hardware. Spring feels strong for reuse. All the original Jappaned finish is worn away. Will clean up nicely for a new finish or nice as is. This was a typical toe kick release for the bottom of a door and floor. The slide engages with foot simply by pushing to engage knob. To disengage simply tap the button with your toe. The top side of the door might have had a matching slide with a chain pull to secure the topside of the door. Lock comes with a flush mount strike that is not original to the piece although could work depending on your application. This barn door came straight off a barn built in the 1880's. The barn door has the rollers on the top and some damage from the years outside. The door on the right is generally held closed with latches on the top and bottom and not opened except to bring in large pieces of furniture or other large items. The condition is excellent for doors of this age. The original brass mail slot disappeared when it was removed from the building. The doors are 83 1/4" tall and 1 3/4" thick. In the pictures it appears that one door is taller than the other but that is not the case. They are an original matched pair, I just couldn't get them to ... morestand up correctly in the snow. The door on the left is 27 3/4" wide and the door on the right is 28" wide. If you are restoring an old house these might be just the items to make a grand entranceway. The outside is a dark gray with great panels and the interior is peeling white over original varnish) The original dark amethyst privacy panel is approximately 14 1/2" x 39 1/2" and has a pebbly surface. NOTE: After listing the doors for sale I discovered a 1 1/2" crack on the side of the amethyst glass panel when I was doing a final cleaning.the glass is very old and grainy with many lines so the crack isn't obvious until you inspect it very carefully. These two old sliding fire doors where found in a factory/warehouse brick building in Baltimore's Little Italy(Maryland) The building housed several manufacturing companies in the 20th century since the very early 1900's. Such as oyster shucking plant, lumber, brewery and lamp factory as the last one in the 1980's. They measure 2 3/4" thickness) x 38" width) x 76' 79" length) The top is angled. Weight approx. 300 lbs. each door. Unfortunately only one hanging bracket is available and still attached to one door. They are made of solid wood covered with metal sheeting and could be used as a decorative element or interior door without actual fire code requirements. Good conditions.
