There is a stepped ledge above and below the lite on the exterior side. Notice the dental molding below the lower ledge-nice accent! Hardware: The door is equipped with an antique mortise(box" lock and a modern deadbolt with key. No other hardware is included. W e have a good selection of period hardware in our eBay store. SUPERB PR VICTORIAN ANTIQUE ART NOUVEAU DOOR FINGER PLATES 1880 These are a superb MATCHING PAIR OF ART NOVEAU DOOR FINGER PLATES. In my estimation they date from around the late 19th Century. Circa 1880-1900, but please make up your own mind about this. The finger plates each measure approx 11 inches(280mm) long by 3 inches(75mm) wide. And are made from metal, with a copper plated finish. They are in very good condition. Apart from a worn patch on the copper finish on one plate(see photos. There are no splits, dings, or repairs. They are a fine examples of their type and they would make a great addition to any door. Please see the photos for condition and type. weight approx 100 grammes. There is no reserve

Description This is a great piece that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian home. It is made of a hardwood that I can't identify and is painted on both sides. The front has a pediment with spoon carvings above the glass. Below the glass is a shelf trimmed in dentil molding with a corbel in the middle. There are raised panels at the bottom. The back is plain with a raised panel. The glass is not original as it is not beveled. Some hardware needs replacing. It measures 35.75 inches wide. 82 inches tall and is 2 inches thick. It may just be a draw pull. The most awesome is that massive brass/bronze one as seen close-up in the last 4 pictures. It is simply massive and beautiful! The condition of the stops are generally good with varying degrees of typical wear from age and use, as pictured. One is missing a screw, another has some nail holes, and none have been cleaned. Penn Antique Restoration. 34"x83"x1.75" Antique Victorian Entry Door w/Window& 2 Panels. Distressed. Antique, exterior door salvaged from an old home in Northeastern Pennsylvania. The door has a solid pine core covered with 1/4" thick, quatersawn oak veneers on the exterior side, and 1/4" thick heartpine veneers on the interior side. The door is painted on both sides. Please note that heartpine is the non-living. Core of a pine tree, and not the soft, outer, living sap-wood. Since it takes 30 years for a pine tree just to develop just 1” of heart stock it is rarer, harder, more durable, more insect& rot resistant, less susceptible to warping and twisting, and is much more valuable than the cheap, pine lumber that is commonly found at most hardware stores. Also, please don't think that"veneer" ... moremeans inferior quality. Unlike the paper-thin veneers used on modern doors and furniture. These veneers are 1/4" thick and provide strength and stability to the door. The door could be sanded and refinished several times before the door would need to be re-veneered. The door has a lhalf-length window. On the exterior side. There is a stepped ledge with carved motif below the window. Also notice the beautiful applied molding around the 2, raised panels below-nice accents! Hardware: The door is not equipped with any hardware. Condition: The door must have sat along it's lock stile edge in some water for a long period of time. As the wood(both veneer and core strips) along that side have rotted away. Luckily, due to the way that the door was constructed, we were able to simply"pull off" the 1 3/8" thick, bad strips of core wood, and the wood that remains is good and usable. Most of the lock stile's veneer is intact, and the partially broken portions could be replaced.

You are bidding on a pair of Victorian Sear's built exterior and screen door in original condition. They were salvaged from a sears built farmhouse torn down in the 70's and have been stored since. The front exterior door measures 84" tall x 32" wide. It has all the original hardware including the original hand turn door bell in great working condition. It has never been painted just stained. You can see in the pics where part of the decoration was removed to install the door bell. The screen door measures 85" tall x 32 1/4" wide. The original rusty spring hinges still work but will need to be replaced. One of the center 8" spindles is broken. It is complete. Just needs a re glue. Victorian Oak Enterance Door
First of all this door is oak and has thick glass. That means that it is heavy. I would say that it is over 50lbs. I do not have the door knobs but the hardware is morticed inside the door and is still there. You will need a keyhole cover too. The door measures: 80" Tall and is 34" wide and 1.75" thick. It is within one eighth of an inch of perfectly square. The glass is 24" by 50" The right. Left, and top styles are 5" wide and the one across the bottom is 7" The board across the middle is 8.5" wide and the panels are 9.75 square. These panels are the same on both sides of the door. This door was removed with tools and not"Ripped" out. Not split or torn or bruised by crow bars. It is in ready to use condition. Even the finish has almost all of the work done. For Sale is an antique 5 panel hinged door. I purchased a home built in 1880. The door was in storage in the attic. I am not sure if this was ever installed in this home. They had a grease pencil mark that said"SOLD" so I am guessing it was purchased as an antique to install. But never did. I have done no rework or restoration to it. This is a vintage lot of 9 door knob sets and back plates. Nice overall condition as none of the knobs seems to be damaged. I believe that the door knobs are bakelite but I am not absolutely certain. All sets have 2 knobs and 2 backplates except for one set that has both knobs but only 1 back plate. All show wear consistent with age(paint. I recently acquired several large boxes of vintage hardware from a Simmons Hardware in McComb Ohio. Alot of these items are in marked boxes and have hand writing on them from the old school fountain pens or even quill pens.not real sure. These items were never used and some of them have patent dates from the 1800's. Many pieces are not marked on the item itself at all. Even though these items are N.O.S. some of thes still have patina and some even have some rust from over 100 years of humidity etc. There is so much stuff I do not have the time to clean all of it so a lot of the items will be as found. The door is made of solid pine and has a Victorian style arrangement of 4 raised panels on both sides. If you think that pine is a weak. Soft wood; please keep in mind that the wood milled from modern pine trees, which only grow for a few decades before they are cut down, is not the same quality as the wood that was milled by our forefathers from trees that were hundreds of years old. This door was built using the wood from mature pine trees, and exhibits the qualities of wood that has endured the test of time. As a result, it's physically harder, less susceptible to warping and twisting, and more insect and rot resistant than today's pine lumber. Hardware: Aside from ... morea mortise lock. This door is from a Victorian home built around the 1890's. It's a true beauty if you can over look the dust. The front has beautiful detailing around the thick beveled glass(no cracks/breaks) and 2 panels at the bottom of a carved flowers. It still has the original hardware. The door is made of solid Douglas Fir, and is finished on one side and painted blue on the other. There are 5 raised panels on both sides of the door. Notice the chamfered(routed) edges with lark's tongue detail bordering every panel-what great Victorian style details! The door was converted at some point into a"swinging door. which means that it was installed with a spring-loaded, pivot hinge installed in it's bottom corner, and swung both forward and backward like a saloon style door. The door no longer has it's pivot hinge or push plates. However, just because it was used as a swinging door, doesn't mean that you have to. We could cut off the rounded ... moresides and trim the door to 30"W, or we could cut and then add to the sides to widen it to 32" or wider. This is a very special door as it is two sided- the Formal side is very ornate with applied moldings at the panels. And the Informal side is of a simple square edge at the panels(see pictures) This is a great looking complete door with a beautiful aged shellac(varnish) finish on both sides. Antique Victorian Eastlake Screen Door #2 36" x 85" Ball & Stick Gingerbread
Up for auction is a wonderful antique late 1800's Eastlake style or Ball& Stick style Victorian screen door. This is the second of two doors I am listing and has a slightly different configuration than the first although they are the same size. The wood is in excellent condition and the screening is good too! Measures 36" wide x 85" tall x 7/8" thick. Original right off the frame condition. Light gray stain on the outside and original wood finish on the inside. Rare old home piece. Comes with two old hinges. I am listing another screen door from the same home.
