You are considering a(one) vintage weathered horse barn stall door/fence gate. There are eleven in all. They vary in size. But the overriding measurement is 72' tall X 41 1/2" wide. Your winning bid allows you to choose which one you want. Some of the gates still have hardware attached. I was told they are oak, but I have not planed any of the wood. I bought them for the wood, but decided to see if there was any interest before I tore them apart. A deal could be had if someone takes several. Penn Antique Restoration. 30"x89"x1.75" Antique Oak& Chestnut Door w/5 Raised Panels. Robust. Antique, interior door salvaged from an old home in Northeastern Ohio. The door has a solid, chestnut core covered with 1/4" thick, quartersawn or riftsawn oak veneers on both sides. The door is also painted and features 6 raised panels on both sides. C hestnut is a rare and valuable wood; it’s not commercially available due to the blight introduced between 1900& 1908. Which made the North American chestnut trees virtually extinct by 1940. Also, please don't think that"veneer" means inferior quality. Unlike the paper-thin veneers used on modern doors and furniture. These veneers are almost 1/4" thick and provide strength and stability to the door. The door could be sanded and refinished several times ... morebefore the door would need to be re-veneered. Hardware: The door doesn't come equipped with any hardware. However. We have a good selection of period hardware to outfit the door(check out our eBay store) The door was originally a part of a pair. And it had internal slide bolts, which locked it into the frame, while the other door was allowed to swing freely. The 2 bolts were removed, and the 7"x1 1/4" holes remain. We could plug these holes with solid wood- email us for a quote. Condition: There are 2 long dents or impact marks measuring about 4"x1 1/2" on the upper half of the hinge stile on the exterior side. They look like an upside down"L" There are also a few small nicks and chips along the edges(the biggest is shown in one of the photos) However. The door is quite strong, sturdy, and in great overall condition. Most of the scrapes, scratches, and nail holes would be removed by sanding and/or filled with putty during the preparation phase prior to staining and finishing, or concealed once painted. The door has a solid pine core covered with 1/4" thick, quatersawn oak veneers on the exterior side, and 1/4" thick heartpine veneers on the interior side. The door is painted on both sides. Please note that heartpine is the non-living. Core of a pine tree, and not the soft, outer, living sap-wood. Since it takes 30 years for a pine tree just to develop just 1” of heart stock it is rarer, harder, more durable, more insect& rot resistant, less susceptible to warping and twisting, and is much more valuable than the cheap, pine lumber that is commonly found at most hardware stores. Also, please don't think that"veneer" ... moremeans inferior quality. Unlike the paper-thin veneers used on modern doors and furniture. These veneers are 1/4" thick and provide strength and stability to the door. The door could be sanded and refinished several times before the door would need to be re-veneered. The door has a lhalf-length window. On the exterior side. There is a stepped ledge with carved motif below the window. Also notice the beautiful applied molding around the 2, raised panels below-nice accents! Hardware: The door is not equipped with any hardware. Most of the lock stile's veneer is intact, and the partially broken portions could be replaced.

The door has a solid, ash core covered with 1/16" thick, ash veneers. Ash is a hardwood that looks very similar to Oak. The door is finished on one side and painted on the other. There are 6, horizontal, recessed panels on both sides of the door. Also, please don't think that"veneer" means inferior quality. Unlike the paper-thin veneers used on modern doors and furniture. These veneers are almost 1/8" thick and provide strength and stability to the door. There are globs of dried paint stripper on the painted side of the door. And some of the globs on the lower portion have some mold. The globs are not positioned in a logical pattern, and they seem ... morelike the got onto the door by accident. The globs and mold are very easy to remove, and pose no threat to the door whatsoever; we only mentioned this to you so there is no confusion about what the dark spots are. Hardware: The door is equipped with a spring-loaded. Double-action, floor-mounted hinge in the lower, hinge stile corner, and a pivot hinge in the upper corner. The spring-loaded hinge is functional. But whether or not the spring is strong enough to swing the door back and forth will be unknown until installed. There are no push plates or pulls/handles, but we have some in our eBay store. These doors were removed from an elementary school built in 1905 which was being renovated. The doors are solid white oak and were from the Boy's and Girl's restrooms. They are just under 36" x 84" in size and in good shape except for some damage to the louver in the Boy's room door. They would be perfect for a bar or restaurant renovation with some refinishing. Pair of French Antique Wood-Oak& Beveled Glass Architectural Panel Doors This pair of Wood-Oak with beveled glass doors is from France and the pair dates to the late 1800's. They were originally doors in a large buffet. The wood frames are in very good antique condition-straight and solid with the usual amount of minor nicks and scratches from 100+ years of use. The antique glass panes are beveled and none are chipped or cracked. Each door is: 26.75" tall. 12.25" wide, and 1.25" thick.

Th is door has a solid oak core with 1/8" oak veneers and features 8 beveled glass lites. Please don't think that"veneer" means inferior quality. Unlike the paper-thin veneers used on modern doors and furniture. These veneers are 1/8" thick and provide strength and stability to the door. If it wasn't for the oak veneers, this door would have warped long ago. Unfortunately. One of the glass lites is cracked.
