This set is in excellent ... morecosmetic and mechanical condition with only the typical signs of wear and use. Although the design on the lock and door plates are often refered to as the"Ceylon" pattern. That name was limited to the knob design seen with this set. This set includes a matching strike plate that has been opened up a bit, but otherwise looks fine. The switch on the face plate of the lock allows the door to be closed in a prelocked position and the included latch bolt key is needed to properly utilize this feature. The set includes one bronze faced reversible entry mortise lock. Two"Ceylon" pattern knobs, one large door plate and round knob escutcheon, matching strike plate, single keyhole cover, and both the latchbolt and deadbolt keys. Also included is a reconditioned knob spindle with new set screws. The set screw holes have been deburred so the screws turn in easily. This is a very nice functioning lock set ready to be installed. The mortise lock's backset to the keyhole is 2 5/8" and the face plate is 6 13/16" tall x 1" wide. The lock box is 4 5/8" tall x 5/8" thick x 3 9/16" deep. The large door plate is 7 1/4" tall x 1 15/16" wide. The knobs are 2 1/4" in diameter. Unsure of it's age, definitely vintage and possibly antique. I exhausted many searches and didn't find one other like it. Most of the creels that I saw are made of wicker, a few canvas creels but nothing with the wooden top and bottom like this. My favorite part of it is the nautical rope around the top and bottom. The thick fisherman's rope, in near perfect condition with a few areas of slight fraying. Offering it for a very low price, the other 1960's&70's canvas creels without the rare materials and design of this one are being sold for upwards of $179.00. There are all sorts here including wood ones from the victorian period. A few early metal ones, and a weird brass figural rabbit. I think the rabbit may not be a door stop but it sure looks like one. It may just be a draw pull. The most awesome is that massive brass/bronze one as seen close-up in the last 4 pictures. It is simply massive and beautiful! The condition of the stops are generally good with varying degrees of typical wear from age and use, as pictured. One is missing a screw, another has some nail holes, and none have been cleaned. Nice Victorian Brass Hardware. Both have the JCS Cypher and the knocker also has what looks like an R monogram that I have been unable to identify. The letter slot measures 9" x 3" and the width measure between center of screw holes is 7 1/2" The door knocker is 8" long and top plate width is 3 1/2" with center to center screw hole width of 1 13/16" Condition: Original Patina. On Letter plate. One spring hinge with holding pin is missing and although easily remedied, functions with the one that is there. The knocker sits slightly askew but looking closely at it, appears that that can be easily remedied. There is a minor scuff on tip of nose. There are several photos so please scroll.

Here is a beautiful solid brass door that I was told came out of a bank. The dimensions are approximately 62" tall by 30" wide. It is equipped with the original brass Yale lock. It also comes with the other half of the upper hinge that would attach to a wall or whatever you want for the door to mount and pivot on. The outside framing is all solid brass. The tubes appear to be hollow but very sturdy. I see no damage other than some tarnishing. This is a beautiful piece. Its needs a good cleaning and polishing. Salvaged decades ago from a major bank. This is a Bronze(or brass? entry door. The door is stored in a Jersey City warehouse and photos were hard to take as the item was extremely heavy and located behind another object, and it was stored'upside down' So, the vertical decorative columns within the door are actually in the lower half; the upper portion is open- should have glass in it. The door is 81 tall, 34 wide, and 1/5 thick. Appears to be solid metal. Fantastic, elegant detail. The lower hinge is present(in photo) Could not determine what the top hinge looks like. These old brass door handles. Push bars, and hinges came off of an old building being torn down many years ago. The door handles are a little over 10 1/2 inches in length. One handle has the threaded bolts in, the other does not. The push bars are 34 1/2 long, by 3/8 inches thick, by 1 1/4 inches wide. There are no fastener screws for the push bars. The brass hinges are marked Stanley with an SW in a circle logo underneath. They also have a U. Patent number stamped on them. They measure 5 x 5 inches.
