At the bottom of the door, there is 1 horizontal, raised panel. The glass is secured in place by glazier's putty, and the putty is still strong and in good shape. Hardware: The door comes fully equipped with hardware: 1 brass knob. 1 brass lever, 2 brass escutcheons(plates) 1 steel mortise lock with brass faceplate, 1 brass pull/handle, and 3 brass-plated, butt hinges. Condition: The door is strong. Sturdy, and in good overall condition. It has break in the lower, hinge stile corner on the exterior side and slight break in upper corner of window panel. Otherwise, there are only scrapes, scratches, and nail holes, which would be removed by sanding and/or filled with putty during the preparation phase prior to staining and finishing, or concealed once painted. Refinish/Repaint: We could refinish. Repaint, or partially or completely strip the door to prepare it for you to repaint or refinish. See the last photo in this auction as an example of our work. A very unique antique/ vintage. Arched, wooden screen door which I was told it is from the 1940's but not positive. It has some condition issues(see pics) but that is part of the charm of it. Great for an art project, decorative piece with a little clean up etc. Measures approx. 35.5" wide x 85" tall. It has a two step depth.first part being 1.25" with an additional recessed depth of.50" Fair condition please see pics. Will ship but please contact me to verify freight shipping. Penn Antique Restoration. 35.5"x84" Vintage Wrought Iron/Steel Storm Door w/2 Windows& Hardware. Rare. Vintage, exterior door salvaged from New York City. The door is made of wrought iron or steel and features 2 removable window panels with tempered, safety glass. On the exterior side of the door, there is a strip of lovely scrollwork spanning across the center of the door. Directly above and below the strip, are 3, vertical bars and a 2 beautiful, ornate vine, leaf, and acorn motifs. The door and details are painted black. Hardware: The door comes equipped with a handle with push button latch-activator(no key. But currently unlocked) and a lever and latch. There is a bracket on the interior side of the door, in the center to attach a closer, and 2 hinge halves on the exterior side of the door. There are metal clips around the ... moreglass panels on the interior side of the door. Which keep the panels in place. One of the clips is broken, but the rest are intact. The clips are easily loosened and tightened using a Phillips-head(4-star) screwdriver. Condition: The door is strong. Sturdy, and in excellent, physical condition. There are no breaks, cracks, chips, dents, or soft/rotted spots. All it needs is some new paint, and it's ready to install. The glass is also fully intact and in great shape. VINTAGE FLORIDA ART DECO DECORATIVE SEA GULL WAVES SCREEN DOOR GRILLE STRETCHER
Vintage decorative screen door grille. 59 3/4" tall, 24" wide. 1/2" wide iron forms curling waves and wavy water surface, a cast aluminum sea gull spreads his wings over the water surface. There are screw holes for mounting across the bottom and at points up the sides. All the iron work was bent and completed by hand. This is possibly a piece by Macklanburg Duncan but I didn't see any markings. The tallest scroll on the right side has some slight flexibility so the grille can fit inside a slightly wider frame, it will arc out to a total width of 26" or 27" The grille is such an iconic Florida piece although I'm sure they were used along the Pacific Coast and up the Atlantic to New England. In the years before central air was a no-brainer in every home, Floridians would hope for some cross ventilation and keep ... moreonly the screen door on the latch. Grilles like this one were not only decorative, they were(and still are) a little extra security. The iron is painted white and the seagull has been nicely painted with some realism. This gorgeous door came from the same mansion as the fireplace mantles came from. Heavy. Heavy, looks like some cast iron and some metal. Measures 80" tall x 35-1/4" wide. The depth is 1" When I used a sewing tape measure around some of the decorative areas measures 1-3/4" to 2" Has the hammered hinges. No knob or glass or screen. Hi! So you might be looking at this ad because you've got a vintage house or a weakness for vintage house parts and you know you can't buy some crappy new screen door. This is the door for you! It's 36" wide x 85" tall x 1.25" thick and there are four panels with raised moulding for screens on the door- the top one is 29" wide x 40.5" tall. The middle is 29" wide x 8" tall, and there are two bottom panels that are 20" tall x 14" wide- all panels will need to be re-screened. There seems to be an original Eastlake era handle(late 1800s) as well as 3 spring hinges which may or may not be original. The door has a black painted finish and has great moulding detail around all the screen openings. This would be very easy to repaint or you might even want to strip it to the natural wood. Vintage/Antique Wooden Screen Door with Bird Grille / 1950s
This vintage/antique wooden screen door is from the 1950s. It was on my Mom and Dad's house when they bought it. But has not been used as an outside door for many years. It is still in pretty good condition for its age. The grille is a little bent, but it can probably be straightened. It seems to have the original hardware on it. It has a metal decorative grille with a bird on it. It has been painted white on one side, and the other side is a varnished natural wood color.It is 32" x 78" x 1" deep. This is a rare and unique vintage metal/pot metal Mariners Ship/Boat screen door push. This piece may need some restoration or it can be used in its original patina. This piece has been painted white many times but is still in great condition. The ship is raised and is a separate piece attached to the screen. The ship is attached with 3 screws of which 2 are missing. An easy fix. The whole piece is approx 32 1/2" wide. Vintage Antique Round / Arched Top Wood Screen Door 32" x 79 1/2" - EXCELLENT
This is a vintage antique round or arched top wooden screen door. Its measurements are 32” x 79 ½” designed for a 2’8” x 6’8” opening) The door is a full 1” thick. It has what appears to me to be its original copper screen wire. And the wire has no damage holes in it. It was installed and used once upon a time. It does have a drilling for what appears to be a standard vintage screen door type latch and mounting holes for small. Rather ornate hinges. It also has a tiny center hole drilled for a screen door spring mounting eyelet or hook. I believe the door is made of birch and that its original color was similar to what you see that has been covered by the latch plate. I do not believe the door has been refinished or restained- I believe the original finish has just darkened to the color that it is now. There is no evidence that the screen ... morebead has ever been off of the door. But that is difficult to tell on a door this old if it was done properly and carefully many, many years ago. This door is very tight and solid and not warped or damaged in any way– only aged. I believe this door to be from the early part of the 20 th century. The character of the existing finish(what’s left of it) would make this door relatively easy to refinish or restore.
