30"x83" Antique Ash Oak Wood Wooden Interior Swinging Door 6 Flat Panel Hardware
Penn Antique Restoration. 30"x83" Antique Ash Swinging Door w/6 Flat Panels. A ntique. Interior, swinging door salvaged from an old home in Southeastern Minnesota. The door has a solid, ash core covered with 1/16" thick, ash veneers. Ash is a hardwood that looks very similar to Oak. The door is finished on one side and painted on the other. There are 6, horizontal, recessed panels on both sides of the door. Also, please don't think that"veneer" means inferior quality. Unlike the paper-thin veneers used on modern doors and furniture. These veneers are almost 1/8" thick and provide strength and stability to the door. There are globs of dried paint stripper on the painted side of the door. And some of the globs on the lower portion have some mold. The globs are not positioned in a logical pattern, and they seem ... morelike the got onto the door by accident. The globs and mold are very easy to remove, and pose no threat to the door whatsoever; we only mentioned this to you so there is no confusion about what the dark spots are. Hardware: The door is equipped with a spring-loaded. Double-action, floor-mounted hinge in the lower, hinge stile corner, and a pivot hinge in the upper corner. The spring-loaded hinge is functional. But whether or not the spring is strong enough to swing the door back and forth will be unknown until installed. There are no push plates or pulls/handles, but we have some in our eBay store. If you would like any of the hinges removed. And their holes plugged with solid wood, please email us for a quote. Condition: There is a 9" crack in the veneer of the top rail. On the finished side. The door has a solid pine core covered with 1/8" birch veneer. It has a traditional, Arts& Crafts style, single panel design with wide, stepped molding contouring the inner edges of it's panels. Please don't think that"veneer" means inferior quality. Unlike the paper-thin veneers used on modern doors and furniture. This veneer is 1/8" thick and provides strength and stability to the door. Hardware: The door is not equipped with any hardware. However. W e have a good selection of period hardware in our eBay store. And tons more in our physical store.
