Most of the veneer on the bottom portion is chipped, cracked, loose and broken; and the bottom rail and bottoms of both stiles are chipped/cracked and missing pieces of wood. Otherwise. This door is in very good shape with only surface scrapes, scratches, small nail holes-minor cosmetic blemishes, which would be removed during the finishing process or covered if painted. Quirks& Considerations: The edge of the lock stile was cut at an angle. Causing the interior's width to be approx. 1/8" shorter than the exterior. The width of the door was unevenly cut by 1/8" at some point. Most likely to accommodate for a warped floor or settling foundation. Description This is a nice antique French door that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian mansion. It is made of pine and is currently unapinted. It is a double swinging door and the lower hardware is intact. The upper hardware is missing the pin. 4 pieces of glass are missing but the mullions are intact. It has both push plates. It needs sanded and restained or painted because the old finish is uneven. It measures 30 inches wide. By 79.5 inches tall. It's 1 and 3/8 inches thick. Overall. It is in decent condition. These huge teak château doors dating to around 1850c were recently removed from the French Embassy in Jakarta when new security doors were added. The front boasts a grand 19th Century appearance which alone is impressive enough. However when you turn to see the back of the doors you find and incredible pair of life size paintings of what is believed to be a King and Queen. The detail is just remarkable. And apparently painted in real gold although this has not been tested. Large antique doors without the interesting background and without the stunning artwork alone are rather sort after. The door is made of solid pine, and has a less common arrangement of 10 windows. 1 lite is missing; 1 is made of Plexiglass and is broken; and 8 of the lites are intact, original, wavy glass. We could replace the broken lite and add a lite in the empty window with 2 pieces custom cut from our collection of old glass for $25. Hardware: The door is equipped with a spring-loaded. Double-action hinge and 1 hinge cover. However, it's missing the other cover, 2 push plates, and pivot hinge for the top of the door. The door doesn't have a lock. And you could enter and exit a room by simply pushing the door. The door's spring-loaded hinge allows the ... moredoor to swing back and forth. Doors like this are usually installed between a kitchen and dining room. If you would like to use the door as a traditional. The door has a solid pine core covered with 1/16" thick, birch veneers, and has an impressive arrangement of 15, true-divided, beveled glass lites. When most people hear"pine" they think of a cheap. Weak, and soft wood. New pine hewn from 10- 20 year old trees doesn't have the same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old has. Old pine is also much harder and stronger than young pine. Also. Please don't think that"veneer" means inferior quality. Unlike the paper-thin veneers used on modern doors and furniture. These veneers are 1/16" thick and provide ... morestrength and stability to the door. Hardware: The door is not equipped with any hardware. However. Condition: About half of the upper rail and half of the lock stile on the exterior side is missing veneer. Penn Antique Restoration. 35"x83" Antique Restored French Door w/15 Wavy Glass Lites. Beautifully restored. Antique door salvaged from an old home in Northeastern Pennsylvania. It’s made of solid pine and features an arrangement of 15 true-divided, wavy glass lites. We repaired, refinished, and equipped the door with an old lockset and mailbox. Restoration: At the point of salvage. The door was found with its original finish, 1 broken lite, 1 deadbolt hole, 1 broken mullion, 9 pieces of broken molding, nail holes, and equipped only with a mortise lock and mail door. Since then, we’ve stripped the original finish, replaced the broken lite, made and added molding, patched the deadbolt hole, and filled the nail holes(see photos under"Prior to refinishing" A few months ago. A customer bought the door and had us cut the width ... morefrom 35 7/8" to 35 1/8" and refinish it to match the woodwork in his home. Unfortunately, the customer did the measuring himself, and mis-measured. The door was actually perfect at 35 7/8" but after cutting it, it was no longer usable for him. Please note that the replacement lite was custom cut from antique windows we salvaged from around our area. All repairs were made using antique pine. Beautiful antique Fleur di les lead glass door is one of a kind! This is a very large piece of perfect glass! This piece measures 27.5 inches wide and 69.5 inches tall. Which includes the 2 inch wood casing. Both Fleur di les are golden connecting by a golden border. I purchased this door in the quaint town of Oxford MI, founded in 1856, home to the Lone Ranger. Description This is a great set of doors that were salvaged from a Philadelphia. PA Victorian home. They are made of walnut. The fronts have faux grain paint and the backs are painted white. The fronts are very ornate. The tops have panels of distorted florentine glass. Each door has a single raised panel at the bottom. Within each panel are 4 pyramid shaped panels with wooded buttons in the middle of each. There are also fluted details on the uprights. The backs are not as ornate and have a raised panel at the bottom. Most of the hardware needs replacing. The ornate slide bolts are intact. They measure 45 inches wide together. 89.75 tall, and are 2 inches thick. Overall they are in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as they are antique. They could use a good cleaning. 2 Pair of French Chateau Door Plates. 2 pair of French brass door/finger plates(Plaque de Proprete) circa late 1800s in a fretwork design. Purchased by ourselves from a large derelict Chateau near to us in the Val de Loire we have made no attempt to clean or polish them. They are square at the bottom. These veneers are almost 1/4" thick and provide strength and stability to the door. The door could be sanded and refinished several times before needing to be re-veneered. It is made of HEAVY brass. The neat thing is that once tilted upwards. The offerings placed in the receptacle move into the round handle and out into a collection basket or box. These are 2 halves of the top of a chest I am working with. The maker was J Martin of Paris and the picture of the sticker inside is shown. Since the top itself might be complicated to ship in length I decided to make it in to 2 pieces. These can be used as wall decor such as shelves. Accent pieces or they can be fitted together to make an interesting table base. The original wood. Canvas fabric and metal stripping and nailing is all there except the areas that the canvas wore off of. Please look closely to see the metal trim and the overall condition. Circa 1920's Pair of ARCHED Leaded Glass FRENCH TUDOR Doors! Absolutely gorgeous and partially restored: needs only a few touch ups/repairs now which your carpenter certainly can do at a very minimum cost. Over 10 layers of paint removed: wood conditioned. Lightly sanded and stained dark walnut. These doors are heavy and solid: well preserved with the original heavy paint. Near arched area there has been small areas wood loss due to age: more attention needed to repair-sanding. Refinishing,etc is recommended. Leaded glass is original to doors: custom single layer of glass applied to both sides of the leaded glass to preserve and maintain the integrity and increase insulation. Arched framing for interior of doors was replaced to increase stability of added glass: custom made and still requires staining/varnish. Penn Antique Restoration. 32"x81" Antique Cypress French Entry Door w/8 Glass Lites. Strong. Heavy, antique, exterior door salvaged from an old store in Eastern Minnesota. This door has an uncommon arrangement of 8 glass lites. If you're not familiar with cypress. It's considered a soft wood, but it's quite durable and rot-resistant. It is very popular in the South because it could stand up to the high humidity. At some point. Someone cut a thin layer from the top rail. The removed portion, was put back or replaced later on. It's firmly held in place, and does not require any further repair. There is a visible seam, which could be filled with wood putty prior to repaint or refinish. 36"x83" Antique French Exterior Entry Oak Door 15 Beveled Glass Lite Window Pane
Penn Antique Restoration. 36"x83" Antique Oak French Entry Door w/ 15 Beveled Glass Lites. Beautiful. Heavy(about 150lbs! antique, exterior door salvaged from an old home in Northeastern Ohio. The door has a solid pine core covered with 1/16" thick, oak veneers, and has an impressive arrangement of 15, true-divided, beveled glass lites. When most people hear"pine" they think of a cheap. Weak, and soft wood. New pine hewn from 10- 20 year old trees doesn't have the same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old has. Old pine is also much harder and stronger than young pine. Also. Please don't think that"veneer" means inferior quality. Unlike the paper-thin veneers used on modern doors and furniture. These veneers are 1/16" ... morethick and provide strength and stability to the door. Hardware: The door is not equipped with any hardware. However. Condition: On the exterior side. The upper left corner and both bottom corners are missing veneer. On the interior side, both bottom corners are missing veneer.
