Antique Vintage Interior 6-Horizontal Panel Door 1900s Interior Door with Six Horizontal Panels Nice Ogee Thickness: 1.75 inches Exact measurement: 31.75 x 70 This door was in our 1912 home. It was a service door. And was between the kitchen and the mud room. It has the same design as the doors on our third floor, which was for the live-in help(like I have any! It is different in style from the"formal" doors in what would be called"the family's" area of the house. There is a nice ogee surrounding each panel. There was a towel bar on one side of the door. So there are two screw holes on each side. Please see the photo. These are easily filled and painted over, of course. If you are thinking of stripping and staining the door, those are the only holes in the door(other than the holes for the door knobs, plates, etc. ... moreThe nickle-plated knobs. The nickle-plated back plates, and the brass locking mechanism are NOT included, but were left on to show you the thickness of the door. These pieces MAY be available for purchase separately. I believe it is birch. Since all of the other doors in the house are birch(and I stripped all of them, so I know they were birch) I have not attempted to strip this door. It is heavy. Much heavier than a similar size pine door I have stored in the basement. We weighed it on a bathroom scale, and it is approximately 75 pounds. Measurements: 70 inches tall by 31.75 inches wide. 1.75 inches thick. Much thicker than more modern doors. You can pick this up locally in St. Paul. Minnesota, or I will work with your shipper to get it to you. I got estimates for someone who lives in Rutherford, New Jersey. I'm in St. Paul, Minnesota. The least expensive freight charge was about $85. Our home is smoke-free. Perfume-free. But pet-friendly. Nothing I send you will smell of smoke or perfume. Ever. These grand, antique pocket doors were salvaged from an old, Victorian mansion in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. Each door is made of solid pine(doube laminate construction-2 3/8" thick! and has 8 recessed panels on both sides. Combined, they weigh about 500lbs! Antique Vintage Interior 1-Panel Door 1912 Interior Door with One Panel Nice Ogee Measures: 89 10/16 x 31 3/4 x 1 3/4 Solid Birch(not a veneer) This door was in our 1912 home. It was the formal door separating the kitchen from the foyer. The design on the formal doors in the house is a simple but elegant one panel with ogee. The service doors had six horizontal panels with the same ogee. I have one listed separately. By service door. I mean where the servants worked and lived. The six-horizontal-panel doors were in the kitchen and on the third floor. All of"the family's" doors were the one-panel design. There is a nice ogee surrounding the panel. The nickle-plated knobs. The nickle-plated back plates, and the locking mechanism are NOT included, but were left on to show you the thickness of the door. These pieces MAY be available ... morefor purchase separately. I believe it is birch. Since all of the other doors in the house are birch(and I stripped all of them, so I know they were birch) I have not attempted to strip this door. It is heavy. Please note: this door has finger joints on the stiles(see pic) Though it is solid wood and not veneered. It looks like these were paint-grade doors that someone had stained instead. These really should be painted! Also,there is a crack near the hole for the lockset(see pic) Here is a 2-panel door removed from an older home. Most likely from the 1950's-60's. The door is in nice overall condition. Though there are scratches, gouges and small holes throughout(see pics) It has a light layer of stain on it, so just a light sanding/hole-filling and it's ready for paint. Any issues with the door are certainly fixable, especially if the door will be painted. Not sure of the wood species but most likely fir or pine. There is no hardware included with the door. The door is made of solid, old pine and is painted on both sides. If you think that pine is a weak. Soft wood; please keep in mind that the wood milled from modern pine trees, which only grow for a few decades before they are cut down, is not the same quality as the wood that was milled by our forefathers from trees that were hundreds of years old. This door was built using the wood from mature pine trees, and exhibits the qualities of wood that has endured the test of time. As a result, it's physically harder, less susceptible to warping and twisting, and more insect and rot resistant than today's pine lumber. The door has a rare design featuring 4 recessed ... morepanels: 1 square panel on top and 3 long. Vertical panels below. Notice that there is no molding around the inner edges of the panels-shaker style! Hardware: Although the photos show some hardware installed; the door doesn't come equipped with any hardware. However. We have a good selection of period hardware to outfit the door(check out our eBay store) If you would like any of the hardware holes plugged with a solid wood. Please email us for a quote. Condition: The inner corner of the lock stile is slightly separated from the bottom rail. There is also a strip of wood sticking out(see photo) The 2 cross pieces are not loose. The door is made of solid white pine and has 5 raised panels on both sides. If you think that pine is a weak. Soft wood; please keep in mind that the wood milled from modern pine trees, which only grow for a few decades before they are cut down, is not the same quality as the wood that was milled by our forefathers from trees that were hundreds of years old. This door was built using the wood from mature pine trees, and exhibits the qualities of wood that has endured the test of time. As a result, it's physically harder, less susceptible to warping and twisting, and more insect and rot resistant than today's pine lumber. Please email us for a quote. Condition: We acquired the door already stripped. Whomever did the work. Did a good job and removed most of the paint and stain. As you could see from the photos, they let the door get wet, and there are water stains. However, the stains are purely superficial and will be removed after a few minutes of sanding. There are minor cosmetic blemishes from top to bottom. Including chips along the edges, a broken/missing portion of wood directly above the top hinge mortise, a small broken/missing portion of wood from the bottom edge of the door on the interior side, and a couple of dents or tiny broken portions near the panels(see photos) However, the door is quite strong, sturdy, and in good overall condition. Most of the scrapes, scratches, and nail holes would be removed by sanding and/or filled with putty during the preparation phase prior to staining and finishing, or concealed once painted. Penn Antique Restoration. 34"x83"x1.75" Antique Victorian Entry Door w/Window& 2 Panels. Distressed. Antique, exterior door salvaged from an old home in Northeastern Pennsylvania. The door has a solid pine core covered with 1/4" thick, quatersawn oak veneers on the exterior side, and 1/4" thick heartpine veneers on the interior side. The door is painted on both sides. Please note that heartpine is the non-living. Core of a pine tree, and not the soft, outer, living sap-wood. Since it takes 30 years for a pine tree just to develop just 1” of heart stock it is rarer, harder, more durable, more insect& rot resistant, less susceptible to warping and twisting, and is much more valuable than the cheap, pine lumber that is commonly found at most hardware stores. Also, please don't think that"veneer" ... moremeans inferior quality. Unlike the paper-thin veneers used on modern doors and furniture. These veneers are 1/4" thick and provide strength and stability to the door. The door could be sanded and refinished several times before the door would need to be re-veneered. The door has a lhalf-length window. On the exterior side. There is a stepped ledge with carved motif below the window. Also notice the beautiful applied molding around the 2, raised panels below-nice accents! Hardware: The door is not equipped with any hardware. Condition: The door must have sat along it's lock stile edge in some water for a long period of time. As the wood(both veneer and core strips) along that side have rotted away. Luckily, due to the way that the door was constructed, we were able to simply"pull off" the 1 3/8" thick, bad strips of core wood, and the wood that remains is good and usable. Most of the lock stile's veneer is intact, and the partially broken portions could be replaced.

Soft wood; please keep in mind that the wood milled from modern pine trees, which only grow for a few decades before they are cut down, is not the same quality as the wood that was milled by our forefathers from trees that were hundreds of years old. This door was built using the wood from mature pine trees, and exhibits the qualities of wood that has endured the test of time. As a result, it's physically harder, less susceptible to warping and twisting, and more insect and rot resistant than today's pine lumber. The door has a solid, ash core covered with 1/16" thick, ash veneers. Ash is a hardwood that looks very similar to Oak. The door is finished on one side and painted on the other. There are 6, horizontal, recessed panels on both sides of the door. Also, please don't think that"veneer" means inferior quality. Unlike the paper-thin veneers used on modern doors and furniture. These veneers are almost 1/8" thick and provide strength and stability to the door. There are globs of dried paint stripper on the painted side of the door. And some of the globs on the lower portion have some mold. The globs are not positioned in a logical pattern, and they seem ... morelike the got onto the door by accident. The globs and mold are very easy to remove, and pose no threat to the door whatsoever; we only mentioned this to you so there is no confusion about what the dark spots are. Hardware: The door is equipped with a spring-loaded. Double-action, floor-mounted hinge in the lower, hinge stile corner, and a pivot hinge in the upper corner. The spring-loaded hinge is functional. But whether or not the spring is strong enough to swing the door back and forth will be unknown until installed. There are no push plates or pulls/handles, but we have some in our eBay store.
