Antique Brass Nautical Light Ship Lantern This is a heavy(7-1/2lb. antique brass ship lantern. It is in good condition with the exception of several dents and a bent section of the guard. Please see photos. The internal lamp part is missing but a big 22oz Yankee Candle fits inside perfectly! Candle not included. The fixture is ventilated on top and bottom. It was designed for a flame burning oil lamp originally. The patina is nice. The glass lens is in great shape. The silver colored reflector inside is also in excellent condition. Rare Antique Brass Adjustable Height Nautical Oil Lantern
This unusual lantern has a double handle the back and one at the top. It was made by a quality company with its heavy weight and sturdy construction. The thick glass cylindrical chimney is rough at the top with a chip and has an inch crack at the bottom. The brass hooded flip top has round holes on each side so that the wick can get air and give more light. Perforations beneath the cylinder shade for air, and a clip to secure the hooded top. With the handle up the lantern is approx. 10.25” high. And 14.75” high when the adjustable stem is shown and the lantern is elevated. I found no maker’s name on the lantern. The reflector on the inside back will definitely reflect the light once it is polished. Maritime Nautical Round British Brass and Glass Oil Kerosene Ships Lantern
Vintage or Antique Brass& Glass Ships Lantern'British Make' Brass& globe body totals measure 14.5" tall. With heavy looped wire handle up it measures 17+/ tall. My ruler is a little tilted:o) Globe glass measures 28" around and heavy metal wire protector is 32" around. Glass globe in excellent condition with no chips. Cracks, etc. Oil can in good condition with no holes. Wick probably needs replacing if you're going to actually'use' this. The portion of old wick th at remains is blue and white striped. On the brass can beside the wick it reads'British Make' On the other side it reads'Full Inch' Brass could possibly used polished. But I'll let you do that. I do not know the date but probably before or around 1912. This lantern measures 11 inches wide. 10 inches tall, and 8 1/2 inches front to back, and weighs 4 lbs. and 12 ounces. Has all parts and in very good condition. There is a crack on very top by handle that I have depicted in photo. The bow lantern is an early style kerosene burner combination navigation light. Up for auction is this old P ERKO ships lamp. It must be the largest lamp made by Perko. It stands an impressive 2 4" tall. With handle raised. M easures 11 1/2" wide and 9 1/2" deep. This could have been a cargo lamp. Steaming l ight. Anchor light, or a stern light. Not really sure. Somewhere on it's journey it was electrified and has a bulb inside and the burner is not present. A nice early oil lantern. Unusual cut glass globe with brass ends. Has a metal swivel handle with hook to hang. Sits on a small brass burner. Working condition. You will need to fill with oil as I will be draining it to ship. Stands approx. 11 1/2" tall without handle. Glass is 6" diameter widest. Condition is good, glass does have some scratches to it. Also the burner does not connect to lantern, I'm not sure if it's missing some clamps or? Burner will wedge in to place, but, do not move or lift when lit as it could fall out and cause fire. We are offering today this large 20" antique Miller Co lantern. Believed to be from 1930's to 1940s rare and very desirable. We have not been able to find another one like it. They are usually flat on the back. Ours is V shaped that fits in a corner with bracket pocket on the left. Its red fresnel glass lens was made by Perko with Mold No.35 on its side. Glass is in good condition with about 3 tiny. Tiny chips on the ribs of the glass that are hardly noticeable. Also has a few tiny paint specks, age& dirt. No cracks though. The lantern has been painted red sometime in its life that’s faded, chipping. It comes with a chain& Original brass Miller Co. burner& hurricane ... moreglass that’s attached to bottom cover. The hurricane is in good condition with some tiny chipping along the bottom rim that goes into the burner. Also is soiled. More Nautical Items to Come- Note My User ID I am offering a Refurbished early 1900’s Brass Starboard Navigation Lantern. Based on the design. Craftsmanship, and materials used, it appears to have been made by the Perkins Marine Lamp& Hardware Corp. but the"PERKO" tag is not attached. Lanterns of this type were usually mounted on right side of the pilothouse and lighted while underway at night. This lantern measures 12½" tall x 6" wide x 6½" deep and weighs 2 pounds. It has a 4" x 4½" blue 112° dioptric(ribbed) lens which has a barely visible veticle crack just off center. But the glass is not broken and should not be a problem. The lens was originally green but has turned blue due to the manganese glass curing agent used prior to 1915. Also, at sometime in the past a 110 volt light ... morefixture, with 6' power cord and in-line switch, has been added. This nautical artifact has seen extended sea duty and is a prime example of U.S. maritime history.
