The amber one has lightly fluted sides. The lime one is irregular in shape with a flat spot and the blow mark sunken in. The largest of the three is the yellow-green one at the top and it is 3 and 1/2" in diameter. The second one at the bottom left is the smallest at 3" in diameter. The last one at the bottom right is the prettiest and the bluest and it is 3 and 1/4" in diameter. All have chips on the sealing buttons and look as tho they have been used. Shipping will be $8.00. Two Authentic Oriental glass Fishing Floats with Water Inside
AUTHENTIC ORIENTAL GLASS FLOATS WITH WATER INSIDE Here's a Japanese glass float and a Korean glass float 3.25 inches in diameter. The Japanese float is about 1/4 full and the Korean float has about 2 tablespoons of water inside. The Korean float has a crack under the seal and I'm guessing that's where the water entered. The Korean float is marked with 2 hash marks on each side of the different colored seal. I can't find where the water entered on the free blown float. You are bidding on a set of 2 Japanese Glass Floats. Beautiful pieces. These have markings on them. This set contains light blue hues. They both m easure appro ximately 3" in diameter. Beautiful set. Some small chips on the edges of the stoppers from the long journey. Noticeable. But understood. Both ha ve a few bubbles. Markings on top look like"river mouth" One has a ring around it. It may clean up. I don't think it's frosting. I will leave it up to the buyer to clean it or not. It adds a nice look. Great for crafting! T hese Authentic glass fishing floats were found on Hokkaido Island of northern Japan. Measure 2.25" 2.5" in diameter each. There are about 14-17 floats per bunch. Some of the floats are in natural nets and some in fine nylon nets. The rope holding them all together is of a natural or synthetic fibre. Whatever we have in stock. Some of the floats have symbols on the seal buttons. I always photograph the floats against white in an attempt to get a clear picture and true a colour as possible. RARE Vintage Japanese Handblown Glass Fishing Floats Bouys
Lot of 4. Offering those pictured The 4 vintage glass floats pictured above were found beach combing in Bristol Bay. Alaska. They are approximately 3 to 3.5 inches in diameter with a 9 to 11 in circumference. I have operated a salmon fishing camp there for the past 33 summers and spent the 3 summers prior to that exploring Bristol Bay. I love to beach comb and find these floats after storms wash them ashore. I am selling my entire collection. Each has made an incredible journey over many years crossing the Pacific and the Bering Sea. I do know that many of these arrived on the Bristol Bay shores long ago since current storms that pound the coast line will wash them out of sand dunes where they have been buried under 20 to 30 feet of sand for who knows how long. Since these are found in remote areas, some have sat on the beach exposed to the ... moreconstantly blowing sand and have been etched on the side facing the prevailing wind sometimes leaving a pattern of the netting that once covered them. Others have rolled and tumbled thru some incredibly rocky areas and safely reached shore. This sometimes results in the seal button on the bottom having small nicks along the edge. Those that have been stranded and set afloat or rolled by the wind exposed to multiple storms have all sides sand blasted to a frosty appearance. Still others are sparkling clear. Some are very heavy glass with many bubbles. Of these four. One is a sparkling textured emerald green glass with a few bubbles in the glass and the bottom one half partially frosted.It has a flat spot on the bottom where the molten glass was stamped. The second is made of heavy blue green glass. It has many bubbles and irregularities in the glass.There is a large well formed button inside the float at the seal. Lots of character. The third is frosted over one side with net etching visible on the edge.It is made of heavy glass and is a rare aqua blue color. This sale is for 3 antique net floats. Two are unmarked and one is marked. The two unmarked ones are a frosty glass with lots of bubbles in the glass. One is about 3.5 inches across and the other is about 4 across. The marked one is a clearer green glass and is about 3 inches across. There’s 3 marks on the seal– one I don’t recognize the other two are a“G” and a“B” See pictures. This one has some debris on the outside– will leave it to the new owner to clean it off if they choose. No damage to these like chips or cracks. Authentic Japanese Wanna-be Spindle glass Fishing Floats
TWO AUTHENTIC JAPANESE GLASS FLOATS WITH WANNA-BE SPINDLES Two Japanese glass floats approximately 3.25 inches in diameter. These would have been outstanding spindle floats if it wasn't for mean old Mr. gravity. They are still outstanding floats. The medium green float has a run off glass that lays inside which starts at the waist. Forms a long crescent(loop) back to the waist about 3" away. The other light colored float has a run of glass just above the waist that goes around the entire inside of the float. These are both older floats with different amounts of net pattern frosting on their surfaces. These would have formed beautiful spindles if the runs of glass hadn't stuck to the inside wall of the floats. These floats are authentic and I personally beachcombed them on Alaska's beaches. And really hate to sell them, but I do not have the room to display them anymore, since I moved here, to ND, and I do need the money, so my loss is your gain. The Net is very old. And is far from perfect. Some of the netting is broken in places, and it is not a perfect rectangle, but it still looks really good to decorate with. The Floats are 3 5/8" in diameter. And 11 1/4" around/circumfrance, with the netting around them. They are really beautiful when displayed hanging from the fishing net, with sea shells. Authentic Wanna Be Double Ball glass Fishing Floats Alaska Beachcombed
AUTHENTIC WANNA BE DOUBLE BALL GLASS FLOATS. BEACHCOMBED Up for auction are two wanna be double ball glass floats 3.25 inches in diameter. The inside balls average about a 1/2 in diameter. They have the hollow indention in the seal forming the small inside ball. One of the floats is bright with just a bit of net pattern frosting. The frosted Korean float is marked with 4 hash marks on one side of the seal. To be a true double ball float the inside ball should be an inch in diameter. These fall a little short but are still pretty cool. Not your normal run of the mill floats. The inside ball is formed in the sealing process when the hot glass of the seal is actually sucked in the float to form the hollow ball. AUTHENTIC JAPANESE GLASS FLOATS WITH ATTACHED BARNACLES Two Japanese glass floats 3.25 inches in diameter. The float with the yellow netting has one large barnacle with a base of almost 2" and several barnacle bases on the glass where the barnacles have broken off. The float with the green netting has 4 different barnacles and a little clam that grew under the netting while it was floating around. It's amazing on how nature gives us these unique things. RARE Vintage Japanese Hand Blown Glass Fishing Floats Bouys
Offering 1 float as pictured The vintage glass float pictured above was found beach combing in Bristol Bay. Alaska. This uniformly round one is approximately 3 1/4 inches in diameter with a 10 1/2 in. circumference and is made of aqua green heavy glass. It has many small bubbles throughout and two large ones on opposite sides. There is light sand etching visible on one side. The button seal is well formed and visible inside the float. There is an interesting and elaborate makers mark visible in the photos. The molten glass was stamped with oriental figures on all four sides of the seal. Please see photos for details. I have operated a salmon fishing camp there for the past 33 summers and spent the 3 summers prior to that exploring Bristol Bay. I love to beach comb and find these floats after storms wash them ashore. I am selling my entire ... morecollection. Each has made an incredible journey over many years crossing the Pacific and the Bering Sea. I do know that many of these arrived on the Bristol Bay shores long ago since current storms that pound the coast line will wash them out of sand dunes where they have been buried under 20 to 30 feet of sand for who knows how long. Since these are found in remote areas, some have sat on the beach exposed to the constantly blowing sand and have been etched on the side facing the prevailing wind sometimes leaving a pattern of the netting that once covered them. Others have rolled and tumbled thru some incredibly rocky areas and safely reached shore. This sometimes results in the seal button on the bottom having small nicks along the edge. Those that have been stranded and set afloat or rolled by the wind exposed to multiple storms have all sides sand blasted to a frosty appearance. Still others are sparkling clear. Some are very heavy glass with many bubbles I know very little history concerning the specific glass blowers and their marks so, can not provide much detailed information regarding the significance or the various markings. Here are 3 Japanese Glass Fishing Floats measuring between 3 1/4" to 3 1/2" diameter. The first float is Aqua in color and marked with the number 1. There is a light Cobalt swirl in the sealing button and some light frosting on one side of the float. The sealing button has four spots where it had chipped. The next float is Aqua in color and marked with the number 2. The sealing button has two tiny chips in it and the float has frosting on one side with lots of bubbles in the glass. Last float is Green in color and marked with the number 3. There are Cobalt swirls in the glass as can be seen in the pictures. Some frosting on one side of the float. Vintage Glass Fishing Floats - Seven Pieces - Various Sizes and Colors - Cool!
Up for auction is a vey cool set of vintage glass fishing floats! These are hand blown(nice bubble's in the glass) and all of them still have the plugs or pontils attached. The one in#3 picture actually has an inverted pontil. It looks like there a hole. But when you look at it from the side(pic.4) you can see it! The largest of the group measures about 20 1/2" around, the smallest measures just 6" around. The pictures show the colors and I've set a coke can by them, to help give a better idea of sizes. Up for auction are 4 Ja panes e glass fishing floats. Two are a darker green color. O ne is a lighter Aqu a color. Last one i s Aqua blue but a shade darker than the other. One has a number 4 marked at each. One has a cross mark(+) on each side down by the plug end. The other two have no m arks that I can see. Three are in good used vintage condition wi th no chips, cracks or hairlin es. The fourth one ha s a small foot attached to it and there is a VERY SMALL CHIP on the foo t. If you look at the pics you can see it pretty clearly. The float ball is not chipped just the edge of the foot par t and it is ve ry small but still there. Th ese are used and were used in water so all have the normal sc uff and scratch marks on them from sand and other environmental elements. All four have their original plug. Vintage Glass Fishing Floats 3 x with Character Japanese #682
T hese Authentic vintage glass fishing floats were found on Hokkaido Island of northern Japan. 3 floats with lots of character. All green. One is 3.5" in diameter. Bit squashed, and the seal button is atop a mound. Another is 2.5" in diamet er, is bright green and is oddly shaped. Number 3 is 2.25" in diamet er. Has a clear seal button and mostly opaque body. No cracks or chips except those to the seal button as you would expect in a vintage float. I always photograph the floats against white in an attempt to get a clear picture and true a colour as possible. Please view the floats against a white background and determine for yourself if the colour that is represented here is true. If you are ever not happy with a float please let me know.
