Antique Vintage PERCO Philadelphia-made Marine Blow Fog Horn Wood Mouth Piece
A very old piece of nautical history is this antique vintage PERKO MANUAL FOG HORN with wood mouth piece attached to brass handle. Very early Perko Philadelphia fog horn exact date unknown maybe late 1890's to early 1900's. I found one in the Whistle and Horn museum on the internet. Horn is of galvanized steel and was painted red many years ago. Original Perko sticker is appears to be under the red paint. Small"key hole" is for hanging the horn near the steering station. Horn blows very loudly. Mouth piece is in excellent undamaged condition and the inner reed is solidly attached. Old red paint is chipping and should come right off leaving the original finish intact. Brass Pipe Organ fog horn with Lunkenheimer 1/2 inch by 200psi valve
pipe approx. 20" long and 1 3/4"diameter. Overall length 25" with valve attached, patent date on conrol valve appears to be March 1918, no maker marks on whistle and no dents in tube. It works, takes a lot air. It makes a noise so low and loud your bones vibrate. My grandfather told me he salvaged it off of one the old ferries that carried people back and forth to the old shipyards across Humboldt Bay. Approx. 8 lbs. Up for grabs is a old brass. Or bronze, Tugboat Ship Air Horn. I found it digging in a guys basement at an estate sale. Their basement was full of other old boating and shipping pieces. Living in the Seattle Puget Sound area you tend to come across this kind of stuff time and time again. These were typically used on Tugboats or other smaller commercial type of vessels that made numerous trips through Puget Sound and the Ocean. The previous owner was knowledgeable and told me that it should still work fine, and that it is very loud. Please note that I have not actually tested it though. It bolted to the ship dek and you pump the cannister and it blows big time out the horn! Needs a polich, one bracket at foot missing? not sure what was there) has a big shallow dent in the horn part at the back and small scratches and dings here and there but overall really amazingly good, sound is awesome loud! I am the Grandson of Professional Cowboy of the Canadian Hall of Fame Thank you, Robert Wade Stanford. Jack Wade was born June 6. 1910 at Wakefield, England and came to Halkirk, Alberta where he lived until 1936, with three sisters and six brothers. He started his rodeo career in 1925 at Battle River. Alberta, riding mane hold mounts. He claims he made more money there in two days than ranch work paid in two months. For ten years he farmed and took in most summer rodeos in Alberta. In 1932 he trailed a chuckwagon and some bucking horses to Calgary. One horse. Typhoon, won the Calgary's ... morebest bucking horse money. Jack drove chuckwagon for a time in the Calgary Stampede, until 1936, when he entered his first rodeo in the U.S. Jack went to Sidney. Australia in 1938, winning the Steer Wrestling, returned in 1939, only to have a horse fall and Jack broke his foot. Some of Jack's accomplishments were All Around Cowboy 1936 in Dauphin. Manitoba and winning the Pendleton Round Up. Vintage Small Ship or Boat Copper & Brass Fog Horn
For auction is a vintage mouth-blown copper and brass fog horn for a small ship or boat. These were used to signal one's position to other boats in conditions where visability was bad.This one has a couple of dents and a slight bend in the tube as though it was stepped on at some point. I did not try to straighten it. It still produces a very strong fog horn sound so the dents do not affect that aspect. The majority of the horn is copper with the mouth piece being brass. IT measures 13 1/4" long and it is 3 5/8" in diameter at the bell shaped end.

Vintage Life Line or Life Boat Fog Horn With Leather Bellows & Large Brass Horn
Google the name"big ship salvage" and you will learn more about who we are! You are bidding on leather bellows horn shown in the above photos. Some people have told me it is some sort of Life Line Horn and others have also indicated they were used as fog horns on Life Boats. Either way. They are cool looking items. The wood base measures about 10 X 21 inches. When sitting up right, the tip of the brass horn is 19 inches tall. The large end of the brass horn measures about 12 1/2 inches wide. The leather bellows is in good condition and does not look like it is going to fall apart any time soon. The brass horn threads onto the base, and can be positioned in different angles. This item works, but sounds more like a sick duck. Most days it will make noise, but she is a little funny on other days and makes no noise. The noise issue ... morehas to do with a brass reed flapper valve that is located in the neck of the unit where the brass horn screw on. This reed valve has a metal tab that can be adjusted, but I have not really figured out the correct way to tune it. I recovered this from one of the ship breaking yards in Bangladesh. It was sitting in a storage building, and no one could tell me what vessel it was pulled from. The unpacked weight is about 16 pounds, but it will weigh a lot more than that once I pack it. Vtg 1956 Nippon Sento Bellow Type Marine Boat Fog Horn Type No. 1 Tokyo Japan
Up for your consideration is a Vintage 1956 Nippon Sento Bellow Type Marine Boat Fog Horn Type No. 1 Made in Tokyo Japan- This horn is in good condition considering its age but is missing the screw on piece that attaches the horn to the bellow. The piece shown in picture#11 sits on the top of the horn and needs to be soddered together at the seam but I don't see any threads on it to screw into the bellow which is why I noted that it is missing another piece. The bellow has some scuffs. Scratches and some black marks and has some Japanese words etched into it. The date says"1956, approved No. is 429 and the Manufactured No. is B1966. The wooden bellow piece measures 22 1/4" x 11" x 3 1/4" the horn measures 14" tall x 10" in diameter. Please look at the pictures for the best description.
