Here we have a Vintage Seth Thomas Corsair Brass Ship Bell Clock Model E537-000 with Base and Key. The clock measures about 5 3/8" in diameter and 3 1/8" deep. The base(E537-004) measures about 2 1/4" X 8" I bought this clock new in the early 70's. Ran it off and on over the years.Mostly used as a display piece. The clock is in great working condition, no cracks or scratches. The only problem is some clear coat has come off, mostly on the top(From 9:00 to 2:00) The bells strike for every half hour of each watch a maximum of 8 bells. Please ask any questions. This is a fantastic Seth Thomas Ships bell wall clock. These wall clock are very fine quality. And are made to rival the Chelsea Ships bell clock. The case of this clock is made of polished brass, and has the ships wheel around the dial to give a great look. It keeps ships time, striking 8 times at 12:00, 4:00, and 8:00, and strikes on what sounds like a gong followed by a bell. The movement is in perfect working condition, and the key is included. The only flaw on the clock is two worn spots on the bezel that could probably just be buffed out. This is a great old Ships Bell Clock from the Schatz Co. of West Germany. Chimes once at the 1/2 hour. Twice at the hour, 3 times at the hour and a half, and 4 times at the second hour, and then starts all over. It measures 4 1/4 in. across the face, 6 1/2 in. from wheel spoke to wheel spoke, and 2 in. deep. The face unscrews, and has 2 keyholes, there are 8 spokes on the ship's wheel, it also has the original key. Has some brass discoloration, and could use a good cleaning. Great collector's item. Here we have a brass or bronze ships bell marked on the front“M.S.C. Co. Bell measures 8” in diameter and 8” tall. Weighs 8-1/2 lbs, and is in excellent condition with no cracks or dents. The clanger is missing but the clanger hanger is still intact. Really a very nice historic bell. This came from one of the Manchester Ship Canal Company’s tugboats. Though exactly which tug it came from has been lost to history. The M.S.C. Co. owns and operates the Manchester Ship Canal. The following is some history of the canal: Opened in 1894. The Manchester Ship Canal was one of the last major canals to be constructed in Britain. It stretches for 36 miles from Eastham, on the southern shore of the Mersey estuary 6 miles from Liverpool, almost to the center of Manchester. The Mersey and Irwell Navigation was opened in 1740. Enabling boats to navigate ... morefrom Liverpool right up to Manchester. In 1882, a meeting of Manchester businessmen resolved to create a canal to enable sea-going ships to reach Manchester, so that Manchester industry could compete with other areas by avoiding the high charges for using rail transport and Liverpool Docks. The proposals were bitterly opposed by Liverpool and the railway companies but, in 1885, Parliament passed a bill approving the plan. As the canal would use much of the route of the Mersey and Irwell Navigation. The promoters needed to buy it along with the Bridgewater Canal which now owned it. It was necessary to replace Brindley's historic stone aqueduct, across the Irwell at Barton, with the Barton Swing Aqueduct. Which was as pioneering a structure as Brindley's had been in its day. For our consideration is this great looking solid brass Ship's Clock by Bell Clock Co. The face of the dial measures 6" and the brass housing measures 3.4" deep and 7 3/8" across the back. It's heavy weighing in at apx 5 lbs. The movement is Japan and requires a C battery. This one is fresh and is included. The face of the dial shows some mild handling and a few light scratches. Up for auction is a vintage brass Salem Clock Company Ships Bell. 8 day jeweled. Clock is mounted on a solid walnut wood base with decorative edge for hanging. Clock can be detached from base if desired. Fast slow adjustment and chime-silent switches on face. Beautiful chime! German movement. No scratches on the crystal. The solid brass clock case is in very good vintage condition. There are a few very small dents and pitting marks on the case. I have left the finish alone. Clock face shows slight wear at the 12 o’clock mark. Key for winding clock and chimes not included– a replacement key could be purchased or using small hand pliers also works for winding it. Vintage Chelsea Boston Brass Nautical Yacht Ships Wheel Bell Barometer Clock
I purchased this pair of Nautical items at an estate sale over the weekend. I am told they are made by the Chelsea clock company although all I see is Boston on each face. They weigh a heavy 12 pounds together and measure 9" across the wheel. They were on the previous owners yacht for many years. They both seem to be in working condition. I hear the clock ticking but will not guarantee how well they work. There are no returns on these items in"As is" condition. I have not taken them apart or done anything to them. GE ships bell clock Glouester 6B06 1940s mahogany brass
This auction is for a vintage GE ships bell electric clock. It is a fairly large clock made of mahogany with wood veneer inlay stripes on the front. The finish is nice but has some signs of age with crinkled light brown finish on the front. The top finish is a lot darker like the bottom support pieces. No major nicks or missing/broken parts only a new power cord. The brass hands. Bezel and wheel pegs have nice patina. This is in good running condition keeps very good time and quiet running. It strikes the brass bell on the hour and half hour coded bell rings. There is a code for the number of bell strikes up to 8 strikes. At 1- 2 bells, at 1:30- 3 bells, at 2-4 bells etc to 8 bells at 4 and repeats itself every 4 hours from what I have read. This is a Hermle Quartz ships bell movement in this heavy Brass case with a screw on bezel. the case is clean and in good condition the bezel has a nice beveled edge to the glass. the case is mounted on a Oak plaque that was staind in red wood mahogany. Overall a nice looking unit as you can see in the pic's. the movement works well and the bells ring on time and correct. There is a red lever in the back on the movement to silence the bell if you want. the dem. are 8 1/2 across the wooden base with a 6 inch face. To me Hermle makes the best Quartz ships bell movement. atleast you can repair them!

Collector’s Item: Here we have an old copper/brass bell. We think the bell is made of copper and the top eagle of brass. But we’re not experts when it comes to metals. The ONLY part that sticks to a magnet is the wire that holds the clanger, but the clanger itself does not stick to magnet. It almost looks like the eagle has a broken wing tip. But again, we don’t know but what that’s what it’s supposed to be like. The top screws onto the bell part. It is key wind and runs strong and is an accurate time keeper. It is an 8 day clock and has been running for the last 7 days. Solid Brass WW 1 (circa 1915) 8" U.S.N. Navy Fore Deck Ships Bell With Stand.
Offering this super nice all original solid brass 8" wide at the bottom USN Navy ship's bell with it's original brass clapper. Solid bronze mounting arm and slide bracket. This has been mounted on a thick slab of wood for display. I disassembled this bell assembly so you could see all of the different pieces with the package. Everything slid back into place fine and the bell will be shipped fully assembled. The estate said this came from a World War One era ship. Stamped into the brass at the inside top of this bell are the numbers 5 15. This same number, 5 15, is stamped into the long part of the brass clapper. The piece inside that holds the clapper has the letters"U.S. with a anchor figure between the"U. S. stamped into it's end, see photo) I believe the numbers may indicate the month/year of production(May 1915) ... moreThe bell has a smooth nicely patinated surface with marks here and there from use. The former owner is 90 years old and states he owned this for more than 50 years! Everything looks to be original except for the brass bolt at the top.there were 2 different types with this and I have shown the bell with each one in place. Don't know which one, if either, is correct, but they both will work fine, thread nicely in place and BOTH will be included. A Tanker built in Canada in 1975 and renamed several times before being scrapped in 2007. The bell is named and dated 1975 and is complete with a brass support and clapper and knotted rope. 21cms 8.25" high to top of nut, 20cms 8" diameter at mouth, 5.2 kg. The bell is offered in original, unpolished condition with no damage to report.

Antique Ships Bell 1883 Schooner Isaac N Kerlin Brass This is an old ships bell that measures about 10 5/8" diameter at the bottom and is about 9" tall to the top. It is a little taller if you count the hook on top. Stamped into one side"Taken From Direlict(sic) Isaac N Kerlin Of Brighton NJ May 16. 1901, Lat 40 10N, Long 40 33 W. The bell appears to be brass and was polished at some point. It is miisng the clapper. It still rings if tapped. The hook for the clapper is still there. The interior of the bell has also been polished about half way up- old corrosion shows after that. The schooner was built in 1883 and sunk 1901. The bell is not cracked or chipped. It shows a little crease in the middle of the stamping. White spots are glare from camera. Our items are packed securely in sturdy boxes/mailers. Shipping weight is approximately ... more22 lb.
