Item Description While starting bids may vary I ALWAYS POST WITH NO RESERVE! Up for auction is a beautiful little ceramic perfume bottle with hand glazing. The brass lid is very ornate with flowers set inside arches all the way around and smooth on the very top. The lid is in excellent antique condition with no real dents or scratches that I can see. The lid is secure to the bottle and the hinge is in good working condition. On very close inspection you can see slight crazing here and there to the ivory glaze. If you were to section this pear-shaped bottle into fourths ~ you will see a different hand painted floral design on each of the 4"sides" No chips. Cracks or repairs noted and no loss to any of the glaze. The bottle is marked on the bottom with a blue"2" and also block stamped with the numbers"084" and"12" ... moreI had to use my loupe to figure out the 8 because it looks like a 3. When looking at the bottom with my loupe there is also a very light"34. in gold just below the blue mark. The"34. is obviously a very old mark and makes the bottle origin more of a mystery for me. The Czech, Moser in particular, used to mark items with a# followed by a( period. And there were some Moser artisans doing work in Spain and Italy c. 1890- 1920. The bottle is 3 1/4 inches tall and about 2 inches in diameter at the widest part. If you like a bottle with a little mystery this is made for you. CZECH ART DECO JEWELED MINIATURE MINI PERFUME BOTTLE BRASS FILIGREE LAPIS 1920's
For your consideration. I have an antique Art Deco c. 1920's Czech miniature perfume bottle. The bottle is wrapped in a fancy brass filigree cage which is accented with enamel and 6 blue faux lapis cabochons(4 on front and 2 on the shoulder) Centered with a faux lapis stone in a diamond shaped bezel. The cap is adorned with an opaque blue glass domed cabochon. All stones are present. Intact and original with no replacements. The filigree has darkened due to oxidation. More so in some areas than others. The screw-on cap has darkening as well at the neck from contact with perfume, but there is no actual green corrosion and it's no where near as bad as some I've seen. It bears the Czechoslovakia tab on the collar. The bottle is empty of perfume but still retains a faint smell of a lovely scent. The glass itself is clear with no cloudiness ... moreon the interior. The glass could use a little cleaning on the exterior. There is a slight loss of the off-white enamel on the leaf accents. Please note: The glass dauber has broken off. These can easily be replaced. Dimensions are: 2 ¼“ tall x 1 ½“ wide. For an item just shy of 100 years old I think it's in quite good shape. But not excellent. Despite the flaws I mentioned, this displays very well and would make a great addition to your collection. Still has perfume in it- do not know what scent but it smells fairly good to me! It measures barely 2" tall and 1-1/4" at its widest point.
