Was a collector, former museum curator and lecturer on Asian art at the University of British Columbia, Canada. She also played an important role in creating the Canadian Society for Asian Arts which got its start in Vancouver in 1968. Over her lifetime, she collected a fabulous collection of Chinese antiques, mostly snuff bottles, and porcelain. Most of her pieces were collected between the 1940's- 70's in England and North America. We were lucky enough to purchase some of the nicer pieces which we are offering on ebay. Here for your consideration we have an 1890s Whiskey or Liquor bottle. It is free of chips or cracks. It has a nice shiny finish with some bubbles here and there. There is a slightly drippy applied top and a smooth base. This amber color has an orangish tint to it. There are some scratches and some interior swirly haze like blemishes in the glass(see last picture) Overall condition is considered to be very good.

Here for your consideration we have a group of four(4) antique bottle stoppers from the late 1800s. They are an assortment of colors including teal. Amber, aqua and clear. These were hand dug and are in good to very good condition. They will be perfect for decorative purposes in your bottle collection. The teal stopper came from a PRESTON'S bottle, teal. It measures 3/4 at the small end of the taper and increases to approx. 13/16 at the widest part of the taper. The amber and clear stoppers would work in a 1/2" wide mouth. The aqua is for a 5/8" mouth. They all have some scratching and a couple have chipping that would be hidden in the neck of your bottle. The tops are in EXCELLENT condition on all four. The stopper is also handblown with a air bubble inside as seen in pictures with a small ruff edge. The enamel is leaves across the front and a dot on the top of the stopper with little wear. Front of bottle has a shield with hands joining in the middle. Above the shield is the word. UNION" surrounded by stars. On either side of the shield are branches with leaves. The back of the bottle has no markings or symbols. Bottle stands 8 and 1/4 inches tall and is 3 and 3/4 inches wide at the base. We are not experts on bottles. This one was found in an estate that did have lots of antiques from the middle 1800's. This style of bottle is consistent with what we have researched from the 1860's. Spirits, or ale/porter/cider bottle to the left is of early American origin being blown by the New England Glass Bottle Company(Cambridge, Mass. between 1827 and 1845(McKearin& Wilson 1978) That company name is embossed very faintly on the base of this bottle- click NEGBCo base marking to view a picture of the base. The center of the base has a sand pontil mark that is typical of the era. Click shoulder. Neck& finish to view a close-up of those portions of this bottle. Like its English counterparts. This bottle was made in a three-piece mold though very similar types were also free-blown(usually earlier) and produced in dip molds. This wide squatty style was common in different variations from the late 18th century into the middle of the 19th century. Vintage Antique Arts and Crafts Gerotin Hammered Pewter and Amber Glass Bottle
This bottle stands 9-1/2 inches tall to the top of the stopper. It is in good over all condition. With no chips, cracks, fleabites or scratches. The cork attached to the stopper has been broken. The bottle does have some bubbles. The bottle has two mold marks up the sides. The bottom is deeply concave. It is marked'Gerotin" on the pewter ring around the lower edge of the stopper. I read somewhere that these were designed in Denmark and made in Holland, but I cannot be sure if this is correct. Nice yellow/amber and very eyecatching.
