List of“sheets” included in this folio are Description. Topography(map) Historical Geology(map) Economic Geology(map) Structure Sections(map) Columnar Sections. Condition is good considering the age. There is some chipping along the edges of some pages. And small tears on pages, but the atlas is in great condition for its age. Please look carefully at the pictures for condition issues. Ten Topographic Geological Survey Maps of Virginia 1960s-1980s
These are topographic maps of ten different quadrangles in Virginia. 7.5 Minute Series. Mapped by the Army Map Service. Published by United States Department of the Interior Geological Survey. Contour interval of 10 feet. They include the following: Quantico(1978) Joplin(1971) Supply(1983) Penola(1985) Stafford(1978) Sterling(1972) Widewater(1978) Sparta(1968) Leesburg(1968) and Bowling Green(1969) Colors on maps are white with pastel colors of green. Blue, pink. The Leesburg map has a small rip, and there is a discolored square on the back of 2-3 of the maps and a tiny bit of discoloration has come through but map is still very readable. Maps measure approximately 27" by 22" Just one map is shown but they all look like this.

So, I did fold out the bottom edges so you could see that they are full color and get the complete information for the maps. The first map is a Topography map and the second is a General and Econonic Geological map. They are very large, approximately 42" x 63" and the coloration is so strong the maps still have an"inky" smell to them and the 2nd map has some ink darkening on one end like you would see on building plans. Lot 2 1956 Vintage Maps Dept Army Interior Geological Survey Virginia Quadrangle This auction is for one lot of 2 vintage 1956 Geological Survey maps of Virginia Quadrangles made by the United States Department of the Army Corp of Engineers and the Department of the Interior. The surveys are of Occoquan Virginia and Independent Hill Manassas Virginia. Both are part of Fairfax County and part of the greater Washington DC Metropolitan area. They each measure approximately 27" by 22 1/4" and are in good clean condition with no tears rips or marks. There is a very faint discoloration on one but hard to find. Great item for any collector! One is for 1978 and the other is for 1994-1996. The older one is complete and unmarked but well used. Including some tears at the creases. The later one is almost like new. Please see the photo. The show the area of Harpers Ferry and Charles Town. West Virginia and parts of Virginia, and parts of Maryland. The western section of these two maps was updated last in 1978 and the eastern half was updated last in 1969. Both are 1:24.000 scale(approx. 1”= 2,000’ Elevation contour intervals are 20’ I found them useful in the study of troop movements during the War between the States. Maps are used but in overall good condition. Main problem is that scotch tape has been used to attach them together and it yellowed. Edges wrinkled and a fold off the edge of one of the maps but only on the white border. Not on the map. Up for auction are two of several 19104 C.S. Hammond Atlas of the World maps I have on eBay. There is a map on each side. So you can put them in a two-sided frame to get twice the pleasure from them. Each page from the Atlas measures about 10 x 13 1/4" The maps are very colorful, totally readable. And ion state maps, include identification of cities and towns, with their populations and locations on the map. Some maps also show the state's total population as of 1900, a breakdown of the state's population by race and gender, number of foreign-born and native-born, and land and water surfaces in square miles. Latitude and longitude numbers are shown on all four sides of state maps, but not on city maps. All the maps are generally in very good condition, all complete, no serious flaws.
