This atlas contained 8 maps, and some were republished without emendation in multiple issues. So the fold is smooth with no perforations for sewing. The latitude/longitude frame is colored yellow, and the geographical borders are outlined in color. There is an inset out of frame of the Shetland Isles, also colored, and the southern verge(Scilly Isles, etc. are also out of frame. T his wonderful"Heart of New England" map- one side a full color map of the eastern Massachusetts region. The other side e ntitled"A Practical Map" highly detailed street map of the city of Boston. Both maps are designed to be very user friendly and include tremendous detail such as the location of town halls. Light houses. Post offices, railroad lines and train depot, churches, schools and cemeteries. Through roads and"good roads, local and private roads are all depicted as are town and county boundaries and even electric lines. With a scal e of 400 feet to the inch this is a wonderful reference resource! Date is 1910. The publisher was the Bullard Company. Located at 46 Cornhill. This map is one sheet of paper. Approximately 40 inches wide by 45 inches tall. It is folded into panels each 5 inches x 11-1/4 inche ... mores. Total 32 panels. The paper folds up so that it is sandwiched between two dark olive green hard cover"pasteboard" type covers. The leaves inside the covers are firmly glued to them. CONDITION: FRAGILE- Please look at our pict ures! Lovely color with no fading. NO stains, NO writing anywhere and NO serious tears. T here are numerous short edge tears and some splits in the folds. Pretty much expected from age. There is some chipping at the center bottom of the front cover. The paper is age darkening slightly, very grac efully. The pretty heart design on the covers is hard to read due to age darkening. T he way it was de signed- with tw o of the fragile. Thin pa per panels permanently mounted to heavy boards- makes it easy to damage it. S o handle with care! There are edge bumps on the covers and on the corners of the map that protru de from inside the covers. A New and Correct Plan of the Town of Boston Issued Oct. 1775. London by Gentleman's Magazine Fine antique engraved city plan printed in the late 18th century. Depicts"Charlestown in ruins" to the north of the city. With individual buildings damaged as a result of fighting during the Battle of Bunker Hill. Within the city itself we see a military magazine below Cambridge Street, as well as a Military Battery on the Common. Beacon Hill looks as if it were part of a mountain range, a fortification block is seen at the bottom neck, at the start of orange street. Noteworthy for its historical significance. As the map was created for distribution to the English public at the start of fighting in Boston during the Revolution, shortly after the attack on Bunker Hill. A reduced version of Pages map. A vintage tilt top table for chess or other games, featuring a map on top of Boston 1775 The map is titled" Plan of the town and endevirns of Boston with the Attack on Bunker Hill in the peninsula of Charlestown the 17th of June 1775" This table is sturdy and made of solid wood. It measures 21 3/4" tall with the top tilted in the upright position. The base is 16" by 15 1/2" Table top measures 19" by 19" I am unsure of the exact age if this piece. There are no labels or marks on this piece. It is in nice condition with a few scuffs in the wood and a little dirt on the table top.
