Original 1873 Historical Atlas of Long Island by Beers Comstock and Cline
Original 1873 Historical Atlas of the counties of Long Island: Suffolk. Kings and Queens. This complete atlas includes hand-colored maps of towns and villages on Long Island. These attractive maps show street and family names as is characteristic of the Beers atlases. The black clothboard cover with gilt lettering is fully detached from the leaves. There is age toning throughout the leaves. The handcoloring is well done and enhances the character of the maps. Many of the leaves exhibit wear and edge chipping. However. The maps remain intact and clear. The atlas contains the map of the state of New York plus the city of New York and Brooklyn. There is also a fold-out map of the entire Long Island(well-worn with much creasing and repairs due to excessive use) This is a rare find for anyone looking for a valuable piece of history!

1869 Beers Atlas map of Windham, Vermont; 14" x 11"
1869 hand colored map of Windham. Vermont taken from a damaged Beer's Atlas of Windham County is in good condition. The map itself is inside a 14" tall and 11" wide decorative edge. The page is 15 1/2" by 12" There is a 1/4" tear on the left side of the page and stain about 1 1/2" wide on the margin at the bottom of the map. The whole page has turned ivory or tan with age. There are a couple faint dirty finger smudges. The paper is still flexible. Please examine the photo carefully. I try to ship within 1 day of payment clearing or the weekend. I do combine shipping based on size and weight of the package. I am shipping priority mail so the maps can be shipped flat.

Map measures approx. 12" x 15.5" This includes the area of Flushing that contained the Parsons Nursery, the Henderson Nursery, the Sanford Hall Asylum, the Boerum Estate, the property of Walter Bowne, and the Poor House Burying Ground, to name just a few highlights. It was hard to get a good picture of the whole map, but you can see how clear the details are above and in the last picture. Flushing is located in the borough of Queens in New York City, but this map predates the formation of New York City. Excellent condition.
