Vintage Atlas/Map of MAINE 1936 Container C.of A.Illustrated by Edgar Miller
1936 ATLAS MAP OF MAINE Carefully removed from"ATLAS OF THE WORLD" belonged at one time to the Dollar Steamship Lines. Inc. Ltd. Published for Container Corp. of America by Rand McNally& Company Chicago. 1936 Illustrated by Edgar Miller Outside measures approximately:11" wide x 14" long Inside border measures approximately: 9"wide x 12.5"long There is plenty of surrounding border for matting purposes. Some of the pages have some water spots. Foxing and some pages have faired better than others, all and all they have survived over 70 years. Most of the age on the pages give the maps a well worn. Aged appearance. The colors are vibrant and the maps are still readable and framable. I will be posting more maps of states and countries. The material placed around the top may need to be glued again at the seam soon and there is a very tiny bit of glue showing just at the seam. There is a tiny amount of discoloration of the inside lining at the top and one place on the inside lining farther down which could be a glue stain. The fabric around the top was not put in place evenly and shows just a bit of the lining along part of the top. This could probably be fixed by anyone with a little craft know how. The lampshade as a whole appears to be in good condition and is still extremely cute.

Meaning that they could be removed as a single intact sheet. The maps have a single fold in the center. The maps are high quality lithographs with tasteful and appealing colors. The maps are printed on one side only. Condition These maps are very good condition. The maps themselves are clean and bright. There are a few marks in the margins of a few of the maps. This will be evident in the scanned images. Which are high quality and unedited. The maps are untrimmed and are suitable for framing. Remarks The quality of these maps surpasses that of most. Countries, cities, towns, and landmarks of prior to 1915; some of which may no longer exist. Unframed so you can select a frame and matting that matches your décor. The total size of the two pages measures approximately 13 1/8” x 9 ¼” While the map itself, varies in size somewhat, but generally measures approximately 11” x 8 3/8” The map itself is dated somewhere in the ten-year period prior to publication of the atlas. Of the 62 map listings. 58 of them are made up of a two-page map that was center-bound in the atlas. This means that the maps are in two-parts. La France et ses Colonies. Both are printed single sided and the map is very nicely hand colored. Text in French. Paper size: approximately 13.75 by 10.25 inches(35 by 26 cm) with roughness near margin where it was detached from binding; printed area is approximately 8.75 by 7 inches(22.25 by 17.75 cm) although this varies slightly from map to map. Margins are nice and wide which allows for a great deal of flexibility in framing and display. Page maps are undated, but the edition has been dated by the fold-out map in the rear, and by comparing demographic information against historical records. RARE 1890 Iliff's Imperial Atlas World Map United States Maine
This is for the map you see in the pictures. This is a big map at 11 x 14-1/2 inches from edge to edge. The map is in great condition with no rips or marks in the map part and just slight toning to the page. This is a double or triple sided map and will include the states in the title. Some of the map pages are made together as they have a 2 page map on the inside and a single one on the back of each side of that. You will have to look carefully at the pictures as that is the maps you will get. I have a lot of other maps on from this atlas and will combine shipping. This atlas was already divided into the maps before I bought it so this is how you will get the maps. This is a very hard to find book and not a common atlas.
