What is it? Up for sale is a vintage road map from the early 1940's/ WWII Era of the state of Utah. Published by the Conoco Oil Company and distributed through the Conoco Travel Bureau(which is listed as"every Conoco station is a branch" There is no copyright date. But the graphics, online research indicate this approximate age. One noteworthy fact is this map shows the roadways of the state prior to the construction of any interstate highways- which is really neat if you like to explore history through looking at vintage items. Description: The map has the entire road layout of the state of Utah. Along with insets for Ogden and Salt Lake City. Interesting(and good advertising) is that every Conoco station(at the time) is listed with a small red triangle on the map. Also, an excellent map of the United States is a full 1/2 of ... morethe unfolded map on the reverse side. Map has the entire state in an ivory yellow color(deliberate. Not age toning) With blue, green and red printings denoting various map related items. Condition: I do not know how to professionally grade paper items or books. This is what I see as far as condition: The map is in very good to excellent condition. Of course. It has been folded several times, but not torn through, very minimal wear on edges. Some small wrinkle marks where it was handled. Two small 1/4" tears, one at a fold, another at the center of the bottom edge. NO marks, cuts, or other problems, except an old inventory number and price written in pencil on the outside top(this could be erased) Color is crisp and clean. Inside pages are brand new. This item was carefully stored, and for a throw-away item is a survivor in excellent condition. No mold, mildew, smells brand new. No water marks, etc. Outer front page shows some age toning- minimal but can be seen relative to other pages. A ll photos are of the actual items. And are done in a strong artificial light(3-100w quartz bulbs) against a white typing paper background. This map came from a collection of paper items in

This would normally be from an 1852 Mitchell's Universal Atlas. The map is about 15.5 by 12.5 inches. The map is page 37 of the atlas. The map includes counties in California and two in New Mexico. Besides all the topography, trails, roads, towns the map also includes Indian tribe locations. The map is from 1852 based upon counties shown and not shown. This map has different hand wash coloring scheme from all the other 1852 atlas maps documented on-line with several of the California counties being different colors or miss colored and the green of Utah Territory and southern New Mexico being different. The map is in very good condition except ... morethe paper is brittle. There is browning around the map as can be seen in the photos. The back has many stains from the coloring of states on the next page. These stains do not affect the front of the map. There has been one breakage of the paper repaired with archival tape on the back. The split is visible on the front if you look close but does not show up in the close-up photo very well. FOR AUCTION IS AN ANTIQUE MAP OF UTAH. COLORADO AND THE INDIAN TERRITORIES OF THE LATE 1800'S. THIS MAP OUTLINES RAILROAD LINES THROUGH THESE TWO WESTERN TERRITORIES. FOR IT'S AGE, IT IS IN REMARKABLY GOOD CONDITION. THERE ARE A FEW SEAM SPLITS(SEE PHOTO) AND SOME YELLOWING WITH A FEW SPOTS. BELOW IS THE HISTORY OF THE RAILROAD. It was originally announced that the new 3 ft( 914 mm) gauge railroad would proceed south from and travel an estimated 875 miles(1.408 km) south to El Paso via Pueblo, westward along the Arkansas River, and continue southward through the of Colorado toward the. 1] Closely assisted by his friend and new business partner. Palmer's new"Baby Road" ... morelaid the first rails out of Denver on July 28, 1871. was chosen in part because construction and equipment costs would be relatively more affordable when weighed against that of the prevailing. Vermont Map and Utah Map 1960s Cram Atlas
A double-sided page with boldly colored maps of Vermont on one side and Utah on the other side. From an atlas by the renowned George F. Cram Company. Most antique and vintage maps have subdued shades. But these maps have rich colors that will really stand out framed. Because the maps are printed back to back. Only one can be displayed at a time. An original page from a 1960s atlas. Not a reprint or copy. Condition: Very good. The pages was just a bit big for the scanner. So part of the margin does not show in the image. The actual page is complete. Approximate dimensions: Page: 8.75 x 12 inches. Maps: 8 x 11 inches. Most items are scanned with a black background. The image shows the actual item and is not a stock photo. Colors can vary a bit depending on your monitor and settings. PAPER CONDITION. Because most of the prints and advertisements ... morewere once in books or magazines. They all have at least a small bit of wear. Although there are differences in the amount of wear, items and prints are worthy of framing or another type of display.
