This USGS map is an original 1911 reprint of a 1904 edition of a 1901-1902 survey preformed by R. U. Goode with triangulation by W. T. Griswold. For being more than 100 years old. It is in surprisingly good condition. Current towns shown are Riddle, Canyonville, Wolf Creek and Merlin. This historical map shows Schools, ranches, mines, railroads in addition to prominent geographical features such as Cow creek and the south Umpqua River. This area of southern Oregon was and still is a hot bed of mining activity. Since this was produced before roads(pavement) they aren't named. T he back of the map has a discription of topographic symbols used on USGS maps. The map will be mailed in a USPS tube box with Priority assurances.

This mysterious region is the site of more‘transient lunar phenomena’ than any other on the Moon. Transient lunar phenomena are temporary obscurations, explosions, or color changes on the surface. vintage USGS map Oregon, Grants Pass topo quad 1912 Gold Hill Applegate Rogue
This USGS map is an original 1912 reprint of a 1908 edition of a 1904-1905 survey preformed by E. M. Douglas. For being more than 100 years old. It is in surprisingly good condition. Current towns shown are Gold Hill and Grants Pass, suprisingly the town of Rogue River is not shown although there is Woodville at the location just upstream from Savage Rapids. This historical map shows Schools, ranches, mines, railroads in addition to prominent geographical features such as a section of the Rogue river and the Applegate river with drainages. This area of southern Oregon was and still is a hot bed of mining activity. Since this was produced before pavement, the roads aren't named or numbered. T he back of the map has a discription of topographic symbols used on USGS maps. The map will be mailed in a USPS tube box with Priority assurances.

I can find no specific date or mention of county of note other than Phillipines. The photo(7 X 11" included in the auction is an USGS Plate and pictures the Mayon Volcano with local housing of the time in the foreground. As this map is early. 1899, Alaska was not mapped out competely until some time later. This map is a record of the progress the map makers recorded each day of there trip. If you examine the Tanana River and the Chena River at the bottom of the page and compare it to a modern map, the junction of where these two rivers meet is modern day Fairbanks.
