So it is easier togeneralize the description for listing purposes. Watch for my other maplistings including both 15 Minute(scale 1:62500) and 7.5 Minute(scale1:24000) maps covering various locations across the US) The map scale is 1:62000 and measures 17”x 21” This is the mid scale of USGS topographic maps typically called 15minute maps and each map covers an area approximately 12.5 miles by 17.5 miles.Although this is not the largest scale of USGS maps. There is still amazingdetail on these maps so you can see what each area was like 60 to 80 years ago.These maps are better than aerial photographs and old highway maps because ofthe detail and the features are much more clearly defined. ... moreMost buildings are indicatedexcept in the central areas of larger towns that are identified by orangecolor. All roads, paths, and even trails are shown. The contour interval rangesfrom 10’ to 100’ depending on the terrain of the area covered. Some maps areshaded relief so you can visualize the elevation changes. Each map is an original and in excellentcondition with no markings and very minor edge wrinkles and could easily beframed. If you are interested in thehistory of a specific area before post-war development and interstate highways.These maps are for you. Early Interstate highways may be shown on some latermaps depending on the date and revisions, but generally these maps are asnapshot from 60 to 80 years ago. Each map will be shipped rolled. Since it may be difficult to determine thearea covered by the map name. Typically the second photo showing the map namewill also show an outline of the state and a black square indicating thelocation within the state. I am selling these maps individually because of thespecific interest each map may have. I will answer any questions pertaining tothe coverage of any specific map. Vintage 1954 Tupper Lake Map & 1968 Wolf Mountain Map US Geological Survey USGS
This is a lot of 2 US Geological Survey topographic maps. One is Tupper Lake New York. It is from 1954 in mint condition! When open the map measures 18" wide by 22" tall. It is 7" by 4.5" when folded. The topography is from aerial photographs taken in 1953 with a field check in 1954. This entire map exists within Adirondack State Park it is a beauty! The second map is Wolf Mountain from1968 also in excellent condition. It is 21.5" X 26" tall when open and 6.5" by 5.5" when folded. I accept PayPal and ship to the USA

Overall there is some age yellowing appropriate to its age, and the back side has a history of US topo maps plus a key to the symbols. It shows towns of Ellsworth, Surry, Hancock, Lamoine, No 8 Plantation, Mariaville, Waltham, Eastbrook and Otis. It shows lakes, Union River and bays reaching in from the coast. It measures approximately 16" x 20" and shows the Penobscot River along with towns of Hampden, Orrington, Winterport, Bucksport, Frankfort, Prospect, Verona and Searsport. The back side has a history lesson on the Topographical Maps of the United States along with a key of Standard Symbols and is dated 1928. The map is pretty decent shape for its age.it was folded in quarters and also along one edge and has been flattened out, though impossible to get the creases out entirely. It also has a bit of age yellowing and some small pin holes in the corners where it was pinned and has some age yellowing appropriate to its age. There is also some small writing in pen in the left ... morehand border which is interesting as it says, Mine on knoll(gold) 1/4 mile of N.
