Hand colored map of Pennsylvania. Believed 1875. 23 3/4" by 17 1/4" Tape repairs on back. Folded in half. Some general notes for all the maps I am listing now. Measurements are approximate from edge to edge of the paper. Images are generally smaller. I believe colored maps to be hand-colored. Not machine colored. I got these maps loose and do not have personal knowledge as to actual original sources. In some cases dates and original sources are clearly stated as part of the map, in most cases dates and sources I give are based on information that was written in pencil on the maps when I got them. I can not give any more information as I am not a map expert. All maps are definitely originals, not modern reprints or reproductions. The SDUK began its map publishing project under the leadership of Captain Francis Beaufort R.N. in 1829, and published the maps in parts, haltingly, over the next 15 years, completing the series in 1844, finally permitting the publication of a whole atlas.
