There is one tear on the left hand side that does extend slightly into the map area. There are a few darker stains near the Title at the top. There are creases in the corners, and there are other dings here and there, as well. This map is a great piece of US history! It will look very nice when framed. Please note that while I have included pictures of the front board of the Atlas and the Title Page from the Atlas this map was taken from. Vintage 1954 ATLANTIC Refining Co. PENNSYLVANIA Road Travel Folding Map I think that this map would be described as being in overall fair condition for it age. There are 3 holes/ tears in this map ranging from 1/4" o 3/8" and they all are on the center horizontal fold where they cross vertical folds. They are on the second, fifth and sixth vertical folds when viewing the PA side. There is a 5" fold tear that starts on the top of the fifth verticil fold on the PA side. The outer cover edges and center fold of the cover have tanned a bit from aging. This is a Rand McNally map and it is 4 1/8" x 9 1/8" when folded and 28 3/4" x 18" when unfolded. On one side is the road map for PA with a scale of 1" = 13 miles. There is a map key. Cities and town index, info. on principal radio stations and a PA turnpike ... morefare schedule on this side. The other side is the road map for the eastern United States. with a scale of 1" = 5.2 miles. A map key and a mileage chart are also on this side.
