Printed more than 109 years ago. The map labels the Akron. Bedford& Cleveland Electric Railway, also known as the ABC or the"Alphabet Railroad" and one of the first electric commuter railroads in the nation. Also shown are the"new" and"old" tracks of the Cleveland& Pittsburgh Railroad, as well as the Wheeling& Lake Erie Railroad. The map locates the Taylor Chair Factory on Jackson Street at a horseshoe bend of Tinkers Creek. And it shows the Baptist Church on the Public Square, between the railroad and what was then known as Main Street. Among the other named places and features are the B.L. Marble Chair Company. Powers Road, and ... moreColumbus Street, as well as individual property owners, with lot sizes in acres. Printed more than 81 years ago. This map locates dozens of roads in the gently rolling hills on both sides of the Salt Fork. Most roads are unnamed. But the map does label the National Road, through Washington,Easton, Elizabethtown, and Middlebourne, and the Steubenville Road through Winchester and Antrim. It locates the east boundary line of the United States Military District. A land tract established by Congress to compensate veterans of the American Revolutionary War for their service. It also includes small portions of Tuscrawas and Harrison counties and labels the Cleveland, Lorain& Wheeling Railroad through Freeport. The map is drawn on a scale of 1:62.500 and is ... morebased on surveys conducted in 1908-1909. This map labels the West Salem& Mansfield Electric Railroad. One of the interurban railways that operated in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, until the combined effects of the Great Depression and an increase in automobile travel led to the closing of many of Ohio's city-to-city electric train lines. This map was published by the United States Geological Survey and is identified as the February 1908 edition of the West Salem quadrangle. Reprinted 1920. For sale is a unusual. Rare and unique trail map holder from Ohio's memorial trails. I'm pretty sure this piece is from the 1920s if not earlier. This is made of metal with two predrilled holes at the top to hang. The piece reads: Take one of these interesting maps of Ohio's memorial trails home with you with our compliments. This item was part of the large find of items that have been in an office building for the last 70+ years setting and waiting to be discovered. This piece is authentic and original and I doubt was ever used. The item measures approximately 4 1/2 inches wide and approximately 9 1/2 inches tall and approximately one and three-quarter inches deep.
