I have a nice vintage classroom wall map of A pictorial map of North Carolina It measures 45'X 65' long. It was made by George F Cram Company in 1960's Not totally sure of the date. But most maps I have date from that era. It is made from a paper/fiber material that is a heavy paper so it is wipeable. It is the type that hung on the wall on the runner and rolled down. I rolled it down just enough to inspect it. It rolled back fine but I will still handle with TLC. This one still had the paper wrapper on it, so im the first one in almost 40 Yeats to handle it. The colors are vibrant and no visible tears are present. They were stored in an old warehouse for about 40 years.I quite a few if these maps which I will start posting in the next couple of days so keep checking. Who also established Unto These Hills— an outdoor historical drama follows the story of the Cherokee of the Eastern region up to their removal in 1838 via the Trail of Tears to Indian Territory. Now Oklahoma. The map measures 11-1/2" x 17" and locates the boundaries of the reservation. More accurately known today as the Qualla Boundary. It shows paved, gravel, and dirt roads, trails, churches, and missions, with numerous decorations.
