There is a copyright date of 1882 in small print in the bottom margin. The map is not mounted, matted nor framed being sold as a single sheet as seen in the first pic. Overall. A Beautiful Map with Superb Color! Size: The map image measures approximately 14 1/4 by 21 1/2 inches on a 15 1/4 by 23" page. Condition: It is in Good to Very Good condition with overall tonal aging. Blank on the reverse, printed on heavy paper with original hand coloring and a centerfold as issued. There are slight damp stains in the side margins as seen and some edgewear and light handling along the bottom margin, otherwise the map image is very clean in general and would frame up nicely. Including: 3 share certificates: Great Bend Extension, Diamond Black Butte, and Goldfield Daisy Mining Syndicate; one large assay map of the 300 ft level of the Daisy mine; and one assay report on letter sized paper of the Daisy mine. These are the last Diamondfield paper items in this estate collection presented as one lot. 1. Diamondfield Black Butte Consolidated Mining Company issued in 1905 to L Stratton for five hundred shares and cancelled an early certificate of the company which also owned the Daisy mining claims later on. HQ in Tonopah Nevada the mines were in the McMahon Ridge area of Diamonfield near Goldfield. Has typical ornate border with a vignette of miners. Certificate is G to VG noting that old tape repairs along the folds have been removed and replaced by ph neutral archival tape. Please be aware that these Old Road Maps are anywhere from 10 to 90 years old. They are printed on paper that is not acid free and in most cases have not been stored in the best way. So the maps you are buying may be in a condition that reflects both of these facts. The map you get may be worn or lightly torn along the fold lines due to the acidity of the paper and being folded for years. They may also be discolored or mottling spots again due to the acidity of the paper. The borders of the maps may also have small tears. An ORIGINAL antique 1866 map of the WESTERN UNITED STATES from JOHNSON'S New Illustrated FAMILY ATLAS. The Counties are individually HAND WATER COLORED and a handful of early railroads are shown confined to the area around the San Francisco Bay in California. Many of the Western Territories are shown quite different from today. NEVADA is shown smaller than today with its eastern edge part of UTAH at the time and the area around modern Las Vegas was part of the ARIZONA TERRITORY. The Cimarron Route of the Santa Fe Trail is shown as well as the Pony Express Route. The Old Spanish Trail, and the Humbolt River Emigrant Road. The exploration routes of Fremont, Capt Sitgreaves, Capt Gunnison, and Capt Washington are shown as well as 3 proposed Transcontinental Railroad routes are shown. 1865 County Map of Utah & Nevada - Early Antique Original, Mines, Mitchell 1860s
Up for sale is an original 1865 map from Nevada and Utah. Description: The map is from a Mitchell atlas made by Gamble and measures about 15.25" x 12.25" The colors are hand-tinted. Note that the southern border of Nevada is parallel to Utah's. And the the area in the southern part of the state is basically unmapped. Reno is not yet established. It is also an interesting look at Utah on the eve of the Black Hawk War, which started in 1865. Condition: Some minor signs of aging. But well-preserved, and ready to frame.
