This is such a nostalgic piece. It waa published by The H M Goushia Company for Texaco. It features a mid-century silhouette scene of days gone by where there were gas attendants greeted you and serviced your car as they pumped gas. This particular scene has an attendant assisting and a large station sign overlapping it. I would imagine that a paper map would be a rare collectible being that it was a utilitarian item. This piece has a touch of local history to Columbus. Nebraska. there is a faint station stamp across the front where the stations were allowed to put their own names. The piece is in good condition and doesn't look to have been used. It does have little wear on the spine of the 1st panel on the top(and the wear can be seen when open on the seam of that panel) It has great colors with the red and green of Texaco. The total size of the two pages measures approximately 13 1/8” x 9 ¼” While the map itself, varies in size somewhat, but generally measures approximately 11” x 8 3/8” The map itself is dated somewhere in the ten-year period prior to publication of the atlas. Of the 62 map listings. 58 of them are made up of a two-page map that was center-bound in the atlas. This means that the maps are in two-parts. A double-sided page with boldly colored maps of Nebraska on one side and Nevada on the other side. From an atlas by the renowned George F. Cram Company. Most antique and vintage maps have subdued shades. But these maps have rich colors that will really stand out framed. Because the maps are printed back to back. Only one can be displayed at a time. An original page from a 1960s atlas. Not a reprint or copy. Condition: Very good. The pages was just a bit big for the scanner. So part of the margin does not show in the image. The actual page is complete. Approximate dimensions: Page: 8.75 x 12 inches* Map: 8 x 11 inches. Most items are scanned with a black background. The image shows the actual item and is not a stock photo. Colors can vary a bit depending on your monitor and settings. PAPER CONDITION. Because most of the prints and advertisements ... morewere once in books or magazines. They all have at least a small bit of wear. But they came out of a loose leaf binder that has a copyright date of 1919, see above scan of copyright date. Map will come carefully rolled in kraft paper and inside a strong pvc mailing tube. We do not mail flat due to maps being folded. Shoved through mail slots and arriving in terrible condition. We like to get maps to our customers in the same condition as they left.
