I am not a expert in this area but I will tell you what I know and what I think I know. I will gladly correct any mistakes or add any information if needed. Please ask questions if you have any. I will guarantee this to be original and as described. I THINK THIS IS; A second( copy of the original land survey of Township number 1. Range IX, West Michigan Territory(Ross Township, Kalamazoo County) It was originally done by John Mullet who fought with a few Indians along the Creek and hence the name Battle Creek, Michigan. The original map can be found online and is at the archives at the University of Michigan( www.dnr.state.mi.us/spatialdatalibrary/pdf_maps/glo_plats/kalamazoo/01s09w.pdf) This is a pen and ink copy filed in Chillicothe, Ohio on 24th April, 1827 and signed by the Surveyor General Edward Tiffin, also the first governor of Ohio. ... moreThis map has the east end of Gull Lake and parts of the Kalamazoo River. It measures 22" X 17 1/2" and is on stiff paper. It has never been cleaned or restored. It has some separation at the folds and some edge chipping.
