Antique Signal Canon Out of a Kentucky Collection
I have a small dug(relic) signal cannon that measures 3 and 3/8's inches long. At the base 1 1/4 inches wide and at the mouth 1 and an 1/8th inches. It came out of a collection of these that I have purchased, all are dug. I was told that they were used to call in the farm help and as a warning of someone approaching. I have been told that these date back to the 1700's and were used thru the 1800's and were used in the western states although this piece was found in Kentucky. Born& Bred in Old Kentucky played by EDYTHE BAKER(picture not included) Edythe Baker Edythe A. Baker(August 25. 1899– August 15, 1971) was an. Baker was born in poverty in to Asa and Sophronia Baker. After her mother died around 1910 she was sent to to live. And attended a convent. There she was trained in piano fundamentals, eventually working for a music store. After touring with a vaudeville troupe in 1918, Edythe moved to in 1919. There she made(for and) between 1919 and 1926; these included and pop pieces. She worked on in and performed with troupes such as the. In 1926. Baker relocated to England, and recorded twenty two pieces there between 1927 and 1933. She became a star there after appearing in revues ... morein 1927. She married into the family of Gerard d'Erlanger in 1928. And left the after the mid 1930s. Baker returned to the United States in the late 1940s. And little was heard of her until her death in in 1971. A selection of Baker's piano rolls. Recorded by. Confusion Previously recorded dates of August 3. 1895 to November 22, 1965, were erroneously applied from another Edythe Baker who was born in Michigan and died in New York. This newer listing of 1899 to 1971 constitutes a correction discovered in September 1910. The August 1899 date was on three different passports and passenger lists, and the August 1971 date with a matching birth date was found in California death records. Dug from the Bottom House Doctors creek site that was sold to the Park last year. We were the last to dig that sight with the owners permission. This lot of iron contains a mule shoe that still has some bent over nails. Pieces of artillery chain and carriage parts, a handle off a limber chest and a leg from an iron camp stove. Very Rare, Old Crow Kentucky Whiskey Crow Statue w/Top Hat, Cane, Glasses, Spats
Wonderful and Rare.Vintage Old Crow In-store Advertising statue the figure and paint are in remarkable condition. The Crow statue is all original and has all it's original pieces including: it's glasses, cane, top hat and black and white spats. This one came out of a 3 generation family owned liquor store in Crowley, GA and was taken home by my Grandfather after being displayed for a while. It was put in an enclosed china cabinet. the embossed wording at the crows feet says: Kentucky Whiskies, The Old Crow Distillery Co. Frankfort, KY. The statue measures approx. 6.5" x 2.5" x 2.25" This is one of those hard to find liquor advertising pieces with all the pieces and paint is totally original and in very good condition. Original Copy of the 1961 Western Ky Talisman yearbook. Book looks to be unused but was stored between to other 61 copies so there is some staining on from the other books being pressed into it as seen in the pics 1 and 2.
