Vintage 1954 Geology Survey State of Idaho 67 x 45" map cartography geography
For your consideration. A large. Vintage 67 x 45.5" Geological Survey map of the State of Idaho. Dated 1954. I bought a large lot of vintage maps(mostly topographical) at an estate sale and will be listing quite a few Arizona and California topos soon. This map has been stored in the original tube it was shipped in and is in decent condition for its age. There is some edge wear and aging to the paper. But no creases or tears in the body of the map. The most obvious defect is the discoloration at the bottom of the map- not sure if if this is how it was printed or it was exposed to light. Still, a great find and would look great framed! This offering features a one-page Rand McNally. Detailed, multi-color map of Idaho. The map was rescued from the Library Atlas of the World, published in 1894 by Rand McNally& Co. and which was in unsalvageable condition. The last three photos validate the origin of the map and the publishing date. This map has a page size of 10-1/4" wide x 14" long. And an image size of 9-1/8" wide x 12-1/2" long. The map's condition is excellent, with no holes or tears in the image, and only a few very small nicks in the edge of the white margin, and some yellowing of the paper with age.
