The map has specific details to it and shows various attributes- different road surfaces. Buildings, barnes, greenhouses, railroads, national boundaries, State boundaries, towns, woods, vineyards, marshes, mine tunnels, steep slopes, tunnels, bridges, etc. Map is generally in Good condition. It has been stored in a roll for many years. So it naturally rolls up now. The map has some wear and browning. There are some creases and tears around the edges of the paper and other stains along the edges. The bottom edge is"crumpled" There are other creases and dings here and there. As well. All the maps are printed on heavy paper; they are aquatinted and display much more detail than smaller maps. Any relevant faults such as foxing, tears, holes or stains are disclosed if they affect the map area and are visually detracting. You will note that these maps are very larger and at least double the size of most other maps available. Rand McNally published a number of smaller-sized atlases, some with a similar name and same year, so in comparing, pay particular attention to the map size. The larger maps have more detail and additional description. These maps were tipped into the atlas and therefore contain no staple marks. Most of the maps are double-page and therefore have a crease down the center and the tipping strip on the reverse. The crease may be professionally pressed out. But the crease mark will never completely disappear. It should also be expected that the page edges will show some minor wear but the wear will not be noticeable after being matted and framed. It is also a time capsule for documenting the change that has occurred in the region over the last 88 years. It measures approximately 20 by 12 inches in size. Two maps available. One map has a tear along fold line repaired with tape and a dime size hole on the edge of the right border. It's cost is $4.99. The second map is in excellent condition with no damage noted. It's cost is $9.99. If you want the less expensive map wait until I adjust the invoice before paying. Please be aware that these National Geographic Maps are anywhere from 10 to 90 years old. They are printed on paper that is not acid free and in most cases have not been ... morestored in the best way. So the maps you are buying may be in a condition that reflects both of these facts. THIS IS AN ORIGINAL MAP FROM BEERS ATLAS.NOT A REPRODUCTION.This map is pre 1870 and is a hard to find DELAWARE AND MILTON map. The map is in excellent condition and is under shrink wrapped plastic. There is an area where there a few small holes in the bottom margin that are pictured and do not affect the sight area. The map is hand colored in pink. Map measures 14 1/2 x 15 1/2. Doctors offices and Governers houses are named as well as hotels merchants blacksmiths.GREAT HISTORICAL MAP FOR MILTON COLLECTORS. This particular map is pages 33 and 34. The map measures approximately 26 3/8" x 18 1/8" Some of the edging is torn and discolored, but the borders and page numbers are not damaged. The map is laying on a white foam board but is not connected to the form board. It is held in place with plastic. This is a great Civil War Era antique! Kentucky and Tennessee are on reverse) Approximate 11.5 by 13.5 inches(29x34 cm) I will generally refrain from breaking books or removing maps from atlases, but I do sometimes get an incomplete book that is beyond repair given its state and value. These maps are from such an atlas. Condition is Very Good, with some small tears and wear to the edges. Paper is clean and intact with some age toning. Maps themselves are generally clean, and any other flaws or marks to the maps will be noted here. Margin is untrimmed from where it was attached to binding, so is rough. Dimensions: 16x12in or 41x31cm. This is an original antique double sided page or leaf from the 1943 WWII Wartime published Encyclopedia Britannica Atlas. Please note that this is not a lot for two separate images but rather this is a page with two sides. Each with a map of it's own. There are some condition issues with this map: minor discoloration along the page edges and brittle paper. No major tears or creases or holes. It is in largely Good to Very Good condition. Given it's age. There is some unevenness to the inside edge where this page has been attached to the spine. Please see pictures for details. This specific map features on one side the state of Massachusetts entirely in yellow and also labelled. But in white, the state of Rhode Island. The Bay State's Cape and Islands are featured off of Nantucket Sound, and there ... moreis a medium to large inset of the metropolitan Boston area and the Boston Harbor(Labelled Boston Bay) Somerville, Cambridge, Brookline, and both the North and South shores are featured on this map. On the other side are the states of Maryland and Delaware. Their coastlines from the Delaware Bay to the Chesapeake Sound make for an intricate visual. The major cities of Wilmington. Baltimore, and the US Capital of Washington D.C. are all present here on this map. Either side would be very handsome matted and framed. This is a delicate map that needs to be handled carefully and should be stored flat or framed under glass. It will be shipped flat and protected with stiff cardboard and labelled not to be bent.
