They are uncolored as originally issued. The map is not matted, mounted or framed, being sold as shown in the main pic. Size: The map measures approximately 22 1/2 by 25" from edge to edge as seen in the pics. Condition: The map is in Good condition for a folding map with overall tonal aging. Blank on the reverse with,multiple folds as issued. It is basically as seen in the pic. There is one repaired short half inch edge tear, some light cockling, slight pinholes at the fold intersections as usual, the map image runs off the page on the bottom left as seen, otherwise the map is very clean and would frame up nicely, see the pics for more on condition. But please inspect the photo scan for exact details. There is no printing on the backs. No maps have any writing on them either. Delaware, Maryland& West Virginia. This map was from the Johnsons Atlas and Johnsons maps were used during the Civil War. We purchased the atlas at an estate sale out in the country. We guarantee the map to be authentic- not a reproduction. As you can probably see in the photos there are some flaws around the edges, a page fold in the middle where it was in the book, a rip to the bottom crease/page fold and some tears along the edges. Published by Matthews-Northrup and shows all the counties, towns, railways, historical sites etc. It also has a large scale inset maps of Washington and Baltimore. The map measures 16" x 11.5" approx 41 x 29cm. with a good border on all sides. It would look very attractive matted and framed. The condition is very good. With no age discolouration or foxing.
