It is from Colton's General Atlas. Published in New York by the Colton& Co. 1866, although the map has a copyright date of 1855 printed on the map stated as"Entered according to Act of Congress in the Year 1855 by J.H. Colton in the Clerks Office of the District Court of the United States. Colton used the earlier copyright on his later maps for this atlas, although the printing plates were regularly revised to reflect the constantly changing state of the world. A facsimile copy of the title page will also be included for authenticity.
