1871 Beers Atlas map of just New Haven Town, Vermont in Addison County
1871 hand colored map of New Haven. Vermont was taken from a damaged Beer's Atlas of Addison County and is in fair/good condition. The map itself is 13.5" wide and 10.25" long The page is12.5" wide by 15.5" tall. There is a large, pale tan water stain in the upper left-hand corner of the page. The edges are dirty but would be hidden by a mat. There are brown marks on the right side near the margin and on the word Meecham. The paper is still flexible. Please examine the photo carefully. The best thing about these 142 year-old maps are that they show where everyone lived by name and local points of interest. I try to ship within 1 day of payment clearing or the weekend. I do combine shipping based on size and weight of the package. I am shipping priority mail so the maps can be shipped flat.

ATLAS OF NEW YORK AND VICINITY 1867 by Beers, Ellis and Soule
The atlas is complete with all maps and pictures of the towns accounted for. It has seen better days! Most maps do have a slight tear and/or a water stain. If I had access to a shrink wrap machine I would cut them out. Iron them smooth and shrink wrap the map individually. They are not so bad that they wouldn't improve with some smoothing out. It measures 13" by 15" and is in good condition with some tears on the borders of the naps and a little foxxing on some of the maps. 1971 Tuttle copy of Beers Atlas of Washington County, Vermont
In 1971. The Charles E. Tuttle Company of Rutland, Vermont published copies of several Beers Atlases of Vermont Counties. This is Washington County. Size is the same as the original: 16" by 12.5" Unlike the original, only the Vermont map is colored. The United States and town maps are not colored. There is a little wear on the bottom edges of the covers. No stains, tears or marks. I will probably ship this between 2 sheets of cardboard and wrapped in brown wrapping paper(I will reinforce the edges of the paper with packing tape. I have not been able to find an appropriate box. I try to ship within 1 day of clearing of payment or the weekend. I do combine shipping based on size and weight of the package.

There is an area where there a few small holes in the bottom margin that are pictured and do not affect the sight area. The map is hand colored in pink. Map measures 14 1/2 x 15 1/2. This is an original handcolored page(95) from the 1872 Beers atlas of Essex County. Massachusetts. It shows the township and village of Wenham(as well as the Wenham Business Directory) as well as the village of Cove Village. Map is matted and shrink-wrapped with a cardboard(possibly thin foam board) backer. Mat window opening is about 12 by 15 inches; the overall size is about 16 by 20 inches. Handcoloring seems a bit faded, but the page is in otherwise very nice condition. The map came to me matted and shrink-wrapped, and is ready for framing and display. If you live in Wenham or Cove Village, this would be a nice'local history' map for display. Perhaps if you live in an older home, your house is represented on the map! This is an original. Old map of Gloucester, Massachusetts in very good condition. I bought it 30 years ago and had it framed. I forget the age of it but it was old. I don't want to take it apart to find the date because it is in a beautiful wooden frame with a gold line around it. I paid $35.00 back then to the Frame Shop in Gloucester to have it framed. I bought the map at an estate sale in Rockport, Ma. It measures 16 1/2" Wide by 19 3/4" Tall. New info: This is infact from the 1872 Atlas. Gloucester was afforded two facing pages. With demographic info on the left. In the atlas the map starts about 1.5" from the right of the left page and continues across the right page. You can see the fold mark from between the pages, on the left of the print. The text from the left page has been cut off to leave just the map for framing. ... moreMany of the names of home owners are early Gloucester families that continue until today.

It's 16 1/4" by 14 3/8" and are 34 total pages. The pages are numbered by two or they count the backs. There are more then one map to some pages and two pages for some maps. This atlas has some wear on the binder. The last blank page has a hunk out of it. There is some foxing and some writing on the back side of the maps. There are two lose pages. Page 3(map of Union& Snyder Counties) and page 53(Penns) that has lots of wear. Then there are no pages from page 54 to 59. It's 10 years after the Civil War. Western expansion is all the rage, and a map making company in Chicago- Warner& Beers- is cranking out atlases of each county in the mid-west. Presented for your consideration is the 1875 Atlas of Macoupin Co. and the State of Illinois to Which is Added an Atlas of the United States. Maps of the Hemispheres, c, c, c. Which turns out to be an accurate description of the book. The first 48 pages are maps and information about Macoupin County in Illinois(county seat Carlinville) Each township has a page showing landowners in addition to geographic features. And there are several pages of line drawings of significant buildings in the county. This is followed by a 61 page atlas of Illinois. Each county is mapped(2-6 counties per page) A railroad map, history of the state, etc. Then a 24 page atlas of ... morethe United States(not as many states back then) a map of the West Indies(the Caribbean) and the Western and Eastern Hemispheres. Now you and I both know that this book is worth more sold by the page. But I just can't do that. As a successful bidder, you can, of course, do with it what you will. This volume is not in perfect shape. The binding is secure. And all the pages are tight, but the bugs, light, and time have gotten to it. The pictures show the major damage to the cover. The front flyleaf has had 11" cut off of it, so it is essentially a strip 5" wide from top to bottom. The cover page has some damage to the lower-right quadrant, but not near the print. This is an original not a reproduction CD. I hesitate to list this item because of the extremely poor condition. This atlas needs extensive restoration but needs to be preserved. I hope you will see it fit for your collection and upon your discretion restored or separated into individual framed plates. I am offering it at a reasonable opening price including free shipping to the USA in hopes of it finding a good home. Please contact me with your questions or concerns before bidding. I will provide photos of individual counties and towns in Illinois that appear in this large folio format. It measures 16 inches by 18 1/2 inches. It's cover is quiet worn and spotted with dust and even a drip of paint. There are 103 pages currently. I think 4 pages are lost but because of the page numbering it is quite confusing and hard to verify. The general ... moreatlas pages are numbered. The Illinois counties are unnumbered and are printed with blank sides. Comparing the index and counting pages my estimate is 4 pages are lost including the City of Chicago map. Fox Lake( and the East and West Hemisphere maps. Still extant are most of the counties of Illinois showing a few towns and their directories. All of the maps that are left would be beautiful framed and matted. Also would be valuable for genealogical and historical studies. Also note this atlas was printed by the famous Chicago firm located downtown in the year of the Chicago Fire in October 8 to 10 of 1871. The book measures 12 3/4" by 15 1/4" It is bound in a worn blue soft cover with black spine. From what I can see. In following the Index, it is missing two maps. The pages have soiling, some staining, wear along the edges and small tears. Some pages are missing pieces from the edges. Some maps are better than others. There are some pencil markings and notations here and there. Due to the condition of the book, this atlas is suitable to remove the maps for matting and framing. Page size is approximately 14" x 17 3/4" Interestingly, the scale in both maps is measured rods to the inch; a rod equals 16'6" One map shows the town as a whole and the other map has insets of 8 different areas of Deer Park: Sparrowbush, P.O. Highly detailed information appears on all maps some examples include: colored school, alms house, Bedford Spring Hotel with outside bowling alley and baths, tanneries, cigar factories, mills, foundries and much much more! This atlas is from a local longtime collector that is being sold off for the first time in decades. Preface: The county maps in the Illustrated Atlas of Illinois. Printed originally in 1876, have been reduced or enlarged to fit the format of this reprint. In the original book, most counties were printed with other counties. We have separated these counties and printed them in alphabetical order. A few of the town plats and some of the illustrations are reprinted. Many landowner names are on these maps. Many other persons who donated to the book are listed by counties, showing their place of birth and other data. As this reprint is limited to the maps, it is hoped that the other data can be published later. This reprint of the Illinois Historical Atlas of 1876 has been done as conveniently as ... morepossible for the various county maps of the 102 Illinois counties, plus city maps of Chicago, Springfield and other cities and towns as space permitted. Every effort was made to carry township and range numbers on the reproduced maps. Book measures 12"x18"x1" and weighs approximately 4 pounds. Book is very good to like new with the exception of two pages being notated in the margin in ink.
