Beautiful, Victorian antique map of Michigan, Wisconsin and Lake Michigan
This is a lovely Victorian-era map of Wisconsin and Michigan published in London ca. 1844 by the famous Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge(SDUK) Sheet 5 from an atlas of the time(titled“North America Sheet V: Parts of Wisconsin and Michigan" It offers lovely detail of the villages, courthouses and roads throughout the area. In sharp contrast to a similar map published only 10 years earlier, Lake Michigan is broadened and several settlements have taken root in Wisconsin. It measures 17 by 14 inches and the borders are hand-colored. There is some minor chipping in the margins. But otherwise the map is in fine shape for its age. The SDUK was founded by Henry Brougham in England in the 1820s with the aim of publishing information for working- and middle-class people who were unable to get formal education or prefered the idea ... moreof self education. The Society began publishing maps in 1829 and over the course of 14 years. It sold some 3 million maps from 209 separate plates. At first, the design and engraving of the maps was under the direct control of the SDUK using the publisher Baldwin and Craddock. Following Baldwin and Craddock's insolvency in 1842. The maps were published by Chapman and Hall for two years and finally by Charles Knight until the completion of the series in 1846. The maps published by the SDUK(especially the city plans) were widely considered to be some of the finest engraved maps of the era, and continued to be published until the end of the 19th century. This is an original. 170-year-old steel engraving. It is not a modern reproduction. It is fully guaranteed and can be returned for a full refund(minus postage) no questions asked. ANTIQUE BRICK FROM THE DUCK CREEK BRICK COMPANY DUCK CREEK.WISCONSIN VERY GOOD Accession Number: 7.1984.10 Published Date: 11/29/2006"Workers at an unidentified brickyard pose for the camera. Ca. 1900. After a fire in 1853 that gutted a large portion of Green Bay's downtown, and later, the 1871 Peshtigo fire that killed approximately 2000 people, the use of brick and stone in building became more common. Stone was locally available from"the Ledge" as well as from fields, Brick, however, was easier to obtain and useful for construction because much of the region had an underlay of suitable clay for bricks. Early manufacturing required the bricks to be made by hand. Fresh clay was thrown into a hole, soaked in water, and then shoveled into a pugmill where it was mixed with more water until it became smooth. As the clay was ... moremixed, it was also forced to the bottom of the pugmill and slowly squeezed through a small hole in the bottom of the box. It was then rolled in sand and pressed into a wooden mold. When the mold was filled with four to eight bricks it was emptied onto a board where the clay bricks air-dried for several weeks. Once dry thousands of bricks were placed in wood kilns where they were fired for more than a week. When the steam engine began to be used for brick making near the turn of the century, the availability of more sophisticated machinery allowed increased production. Unfortunately, as wood became less readily available, many of the smaller brickyards closed. Increased use of concrete block also provided competition for the brick industry in the 1920s. Antique Wisconsin Chair Company Glider Rocker Rocking Chair
Up for bid is an antique wood glider rocker. This was made by the Wisconsin Chair Company. As shown by a sticker on the base of the chair. With my research. I can only tell that this chair was manufactured before 1954, when the Wisconsin Chair Co. stopped making chairs. I do not think it is as old as 1890s as this exact style was not in a catalog that I found online. I have included a few pictures of the PAT marking on the glider mechanism in case that helps you date the chair. This glider chair is in usable condition. But will need some refurbishing. You can sit in it and it glides just fine. I would suggest that the chair joints be screwed together more and some wood glue followed by clamping in a few places. The seat has been reupholstered, as evidenced by the nylon twine they used. Edge on one side is rough where it was torn out of the book, and there are a couple very small stains& tears. There is no prefix before the serial number and through our research that indicates it was made somewhere between 1946 and 1964. We are guessing it's on the older side. It was made in Elkhorn Wisconsin. The finish is distressed and there are dings and scratches. But it actually looks beautiful. Scarce Antique Lor-Fin Wooden Creeper lure by Hi-Fin Tackle of Wisconsin
Up for auction is a scarce wood Lor-Fin Creeper musky lure in a black spine with blue body/white belly color pattern. Made by the Hi-Fin Tackle Company of Dousman, Wisconsin. This is one of the 1st lures made by this company and preceded the company's Hi-Fin Creeper. It was so named by two of the company's owners and designers, Lloyd Fin dley and Jerry Lor bieckie by using the first 3 letters of their last names. Hi-Fin Tackle Company Measuring 4-1/4" It has eye screw hardware, painted eyes, and creeper style metal wings much like that of a Heddon Crazy Crawler. It is marked on the belly LOR-FIN CREEPER. Lure is in new condition, and finish is in good shape.

The celluloid piece is marked On The MC Square and the ribbon says it’s from the 3rd Annual Convention Wisconsin State Association of Master Carpenters. It was held in Milwaukee. It is quite dirty and a bit rusted as you may expect from an older piece of equipment. I was able to turn the engine over by hand though I turned it each way I could not get it to go through a full revolution. It got very hard to turn and I could not turn a pass a certain point. Wisconsin USA. This is an antique Getzen 300 Series Trumpet. The valves work, the tubes are removable, the only thing that I couldnt remove was the mouthpiece. It measures 25 inches long by 5-8 inches tall(valve to bottom tube-bell) by 3 1/2 inches wide. It has an engravement on the side of it that says LPS 1195 95. On one of the valve stems, the serial number is engraved which is K73889. On the top of the piece towards the front on the top side of the bell, it says Getzen, 300 Series, ... moreElkhorn, WIS. U.S.A. The mouth piece has an engraving of Conn 2 on it. It has some rust, dents, scratches and dings that may not be visible in the pictures. ATTENTION ALL OVERSEAS BUYERS. We had another $100. Antique Propane Carburetor and Regulator Kohler Wisconsin Stationary Powerplant
This was removed from a Kohler Light Plant with a 4 cyl engine. Seems to be in working order. But it is possible the diaphram has cracked. Not saying it has, just that this was removed from a 75 year old engine and could be. Listed as parts but it likely works fine, I have no way to test this item.
