The map includes a metal wall bracket and is mounted on a spring roller. The map measures 50 inches wide x 46 1/2 inches tall. And with the metal dowels included it measures 54 inches wide x 49 1/2 inches tall. This is a large, beautiful wall map full of history and geography!

This map shows countries, cities, the different territories of the United States, principal railroad lines, and sea routes. It also highlights gold and coal mining in Alaska, as well as territory dates for regions in the United States. This map overall is in condition. With normal wear and tear. It does have some paper cracking throughout sections of the map. The map measures 43 1/2 inches wide x 30 1/2 inches tall, and with the wooden bars included it measures 48 inches wide x 33 inches tall. This is a large, beautiful wall map full of history and geography!

This is a vintage wall map of Latin America. Published in 1961 by Denoyer-Geppert Co. This unique pull down map also includes inset maps of Puerto Rico, Panama, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Lima, Santiago, and Buenos Aires. Titles and legends are written in Spanish and English. This map is in great condition for being made in 1961. The paper is in great shape with a few rolled folds. Slightly tattered edges, and some paper loss at top. The map measures 53.5 inches wide x 57.25 inches tall, and with the wooden dowels included it measures 65 inches wide x 67 inches tall. This is a large, beautiful wall map full of history and geography!

Other details include the routes of Captain Cook's Voyages between 1768 and 1780, and two inset maps of North America and India in 1763. This map is in great condition for being made circa 1950. The paper is in great shape with a few rolled folds. Slightly tattered edges, some paper loss at top, and a stain on the bottom left hand side. 1701 Rare Antique Map- "CUMBERLAND"- Hadrian's Wall - John Seller - Camden
A rare antique map of"Cumberland" in England. Drawn and engraved by John Seller and published in Camden's"Britannia Abridg'd" in 1701(see scan of frontispiece- not included) This is the northernmost county of western England- see Hadrian's Wall(Pict's Wall) extending into Carlisle. The map was first published five years earlier(1696) in John Seller's"Anglia Contracta" A travellers atlas of small maps which enjoyed considerable success and was printed in several editions from 1696 to 1703. This example, however, was published in Camden's Britannia Abridg'd of 1701(the year that John Seller died) again designed to be portable for the traveller. As testament to the quality of the maps the original engraved plates were purchased by Francis Grose some 70 years later and republished in The ... moreAntiquities of England and Wales between 1773 and 1787. However the original cartouches were simplified. John Seller's name removed( approximately half of the 1701 maps carried his name- this one does not) and the maps were published at the top of a page of text. The later Grose versions are therefore much less rare and are clearly distinguishable by including the text and not having the clear vertical folds which are featured in the originals as they were folded into the octavo sized publication. Very good condition with vertical folds as issued. Attractive later hand coloring. Associated text describing the county and Pict's Wall included(9 pages. 18 sides) Overall map size 6 x 5 inches- paper size 7 x 7 inches. Rare large Hampden County. Massachusetts wall map by Henry F. Walling, superintendent of the state map, Boston. Published by H.A. Haley, 106 Washington St. Boston. The map measures 70 inches wide(74.5 inches if you include the top wooden pole) by 45.5 inches high. It shows in amazing detail the roads, residences with names of the property owners, railroads, public buildings, churches, schools, businesses, cemeteries, etc. that existed in 1855. Condition: These maps are almost always in poor condition. But this one is pretty good. It appears to be completely original-including the wooden poles at the top and bottom. Linen backing, and laminate covering the paper. Also, no significant portions of the map have flaked off. It does have some tears, discoloration, staining and has been taped on the back here and there where there are tears. It ... morealso has some sort of protective layer over the top seven inches of the map that appears to be a wide clear thin tape. I'm not sure if this was original or added later for strength. You are bidding on a very rare 1905 Tunison's Wall Map of the United States. The map shows state counties. Railways, distance and index. A map of the world is on the reverse side. Measures approx. 44"x62" Condition: Missing some paper along the edges-primarily along the top. One 12" tear and one 18" tear that starts at the top and runs down into the map. Several smaller tears primarily along the top edge. All tears have been secured with transparent tape on the REVERSE side. The tape appears to have been applied recently. Missing the wooden rod at the top. Some condition problems but overall a wonderful antique map and rarely offered for sale. Thank you for your interest.

This is an original 1889 color lithograph map of NJ from the Geological Survey of New Jersey by Cook and Vermuele. Published by Julius Bien of NYC. The map is 37 by 27 inches on linen backing. Titled A Topographical Map of the Barneget Bay with the greater part of Ocean County. Covers the area from Manasquan down to Manahawken and West Creek along Rt. 9 This map is usually the most desirable of the set because of the shore cartography and is always over $200 when very good. This is a 38 inch x 47 inch pull down wall map that was used in an old school house across the street of our Victorian home. The school teacher would room and board from the owners of the house back in the late 1800's until 1952 when the school house was sold to become a residence. This map was up in our attic until I found it while clearing out tons of mementos left behind by the previous owners years back. L ate 1850s Giant Antebellum Wall Map by S. Augustus Mitchell. Please note this map is not in the greatest of conditions. But pretty good considering its age. There are some rips and lots of crinkles. You can find additional information about a different copy of this map from this PBS Antique Roadshow: Transcript from that show(about a different copy of the same map) APPRAISER: Well. It's a map from the late 1850s. APPRAISER: The only date on it is an 1850 census. But this map was issued a number of years later. And it was issued in Philadelphia, where we are today, by S. Augustus Mitchell. And you can see over here, it's called Mitchell's New National Map, and, down here, published by S. Augustus Mitchell in Philadelphia. Philadelphia was the center of mapmaking at this time. And Mitchell was one of the major players, and one ... moreof the most important types of map he did were wall maps. Now, what gets me excited about maps. I like maps. I mean, some people do, some people don't. I love maps. But what really gets me excited is that maps show the history of their time unlike almost anything else. And a wall map like this of the United States prior to the Civil War is a fabulous snapshot of the country. That was the time when the West was just opening up. All sorts of things were happening, and they're all depicted on this. So the detail is remarkable. First of all, just as an overall thing, you can see that the territories are very different than today. GUEST: Most definitely. APPRAISER: It was the political situation at the time. They have this huge Nebraska territory. Kansas, the Indian Territory, which is today Oklahoma, and you have Utah and New Mexico hadn't been divided up yet. And up here you have Washington and Oregon, and they were later divided. But, if you go back to Nebraska up in here, this is where the Indian tribes were located when the settlers were first moving out in this pre-Civil War period.
