Antique. Sterling Silver, Utah Mormon Souvenir Spoon, 1908 with Native American Indian Head This Utah collector spoon is in great condition. It has tarnish and soot but no damage. It is rich with Mormon symbols and has a beautiful head profile of an Native American Indian Brave. The spoon bowl shows the very detailed Mormon Temple and the words"Salt Lake. The front shank shows the Mormon Temple Angel with horn, a bust of Brigham Young, lilies state flower and Indian head profile. The back shank shows a man with pick axe and a covered wagon pulled by oxen, and an engraved initial"H" 1908" at the top. The spoon measures 5 3/4" long and measures approximately 20 gms. This wonderful spoon has been in the estate of a collector for many decades along with some other collectible spoons. They were kept in a wooden spoon rack ... moreover a fireplace for decades. So they have lingering soot. I have washed most of it away, otherwise, I don't like to clean, polish or repair antique or vintage items, some people like to have them in their original found condition. This is a rare. Historical room key, below is a description of the Zion Lodge. The key is in great, original, antique condition. If you have a question, please ask. Thanks for looking. Zion Lodge is located in Zion Natl. Park. Utah, United States. The lodge was designed in 1924 as a compromise solution between its developer, the Utah Parks Company, which wanted a large hotel, and National Park Service director Stephen Mather, who desired smaller-scale development. The Utah Parks Company had been formed in 1923 as a subsidiary of the Union Pacific Railroad, and was, like many similar programs, intended to stimulate passenger rail traffic to the national parks of southwest Utah. Gilbert Stanley Underwood designed the Zion Lodge as part of a series of similar structures for the Utah Parks Company at the north rim of the Grand Canyon and at Bryce ... moreCanyon Natl. Park. Underwood's design was more modest in scale and detailing than those at the Grand Canyon and Bryce. Substituting milled lumber for whole logs in a"studs-out" style. Underwood used less stonework, in smaller pieces. The structures were designed to be more in keeping with the character of the valley floor, which at the time of construction was still inhabited by settlers. Underwood would go on to design all of the Utah Parks Company buildings in the valley, many of which are included in the Zion Lodge Historic District, which surrounds the lodge. A fire in 1966 destroyed the original lodge. It was rebuilt within 100 days. But the original rustic look was lost in favor of expedience in reopening the lodge. A 1990 remodel restored its original look. In addition to the main lodge building there are a number of original buildings that remain in the lodge complex. This includes guest cabins built in 1927 and 1929. Employee dormitories built in 1927 and 1937, and a few support buildings. All were designed by Underwood. It is perfect to be matted and framed. The printed area is in excellent condition with great colors having been well preserved in a book. It shows: counties by color. Towns and cities, mountains, railroad lines(inc Union Pacific) Salt Lake and desert, rivers and somemajor roads. The page measures 12 3/4 by 10 1/2 inches. There are no tears or marks. H 4 1/2" x wide 2 1/4" x 1" deep The pale blue bottle has a small chip but almost seems like where bottle pulled off while being made but I don't know. I don't know any history except we found on property my in- laws owned. Some found over 50 years ago. The white bottle looks like it states" Jergens" on the bottle. You even get Ghost Town Areas dirt inside the bottles! I was told not to wash them. That some Collectors like to use their own way to clean, these were just kept in storage. Lot of 29 Antique Skeleton Keys Zion Lodge Utah Parks Company Loeffelholz & Co.
Very rare. Historical keys in this lot. 2 of the keys are from the Zion Natl. Park Lodge built in 1925, of course the newly formed Natl. Park Service partnered up the Utah Parks Company which was owned by Union Pacific Railroad. The 2. big P& F Corbin keys are from Zion. There is a Loeffelholz& Co made key, you'll have to figure that historic key out on your own, wink, wink. There is an old R& E key, they merged with Corbin in 1902 I believe. There is a key stamped B B, whatever that stands for. Also an Auroker, a Norwalk, a Lockwood and a Union. I think their are 10 Corbin's total and the rest are unmarked. Very Nice 1890 Crams Railroad and county map of Utah Map is in good condition. Showing all railroads from the time. It does have a fold in the middle as well as some slight browning. No major stains or rip or tears. The Paper is not brittle. Some Corner and Edge wear. Map Measures 25" Long 17.5" Wide This Map along with other that will be listed was found in a Crams World atlas from 1890. The Book was in horrible condition. Water damage and other things that like to hid in dark places. I have saved what maps I could from the book that are in good shape.
