Antique FEED GRAIN BAG SACK Banner Mill Idaho Utah Alfalfa Old Family Barn
Authentic antique feed- grain- wheat- oat sacks or bags from a barn in central Lycoming County. PA. I can attest to where they came from and to the fact that they had been hanging in that barn. Some since the original owner, whose name is stamped on some of the bags. He died in 1915 after living on the same farm for 48 years. The age probably ranges over many years and I can't pin down which year for which bag. They are chewed and torn and stained and have been mended in places as people used to do. They hung in the barn for decades. They have been washed and stored inside for the last several years. This one has two wider royal blue lines bracketed by a narrower orange line on each side. Near the center is BENNER MILLS A SEAMLESS. The print is quite legible as you can see in the photo. This one has a hole in tht bottom corner; is not ... morestained hardly at all and is quite light and bright. On the reverse it has in smaller letters IDAHO UTAH CROWN ALFALFA. This is an original antique issued by the Sarah Daft Home more than 90 years ago. Her Majesty's steam frigate Diadem left Bermuda on the 11th of March. 1862, on her homeward voyage, and the day following a ... moredismasted vessel was descried precisely in the frigate's track. The sky was lowering, with spitting rain; a fresh westerly breeze soon tended to bring the ship close upon the wreck, presenting six men standing upon a small deckhouse, holding on by ropes, and in feebleness welcoming the stranger with hats in hand. The sea made a complete breach over her deck, which was almost completely submerged. A boat was quickly lowered, and in a very short time the shipwrecked crew were placed on board the Diadem, to enjoy the comfort and attention which the ample resources of a British vessel of war could afford. The sequel is soon told. The vessel, which proved to be the C. W. Connor, had sailed from Boston for St. Jago de Cuba with a cargo of timber, brandy, potatoes, and"notions, and had proceeded prosperously until a very heavy gale of wind overtook the ill-fated ship, throwing her on her beamends; nothing was left but to cut away the masts, yet this was not accomplished until she filled with water. Framed, these make great 10FS159158wall decor for an office, den or just about any room in the house. Condition: Good. Lots of aging around the margins. Which just adds to the appeal of the old maps. The paper is fairly fragile, so map page will need to be protected from less than careful handling. Note: the page was just a bit too big for the scanner, so part of the margin areas is not shown. ANTIQUE 1880'S CHAMBER POT UTAH POTTERY
Offered for a sale is an antique chamber pot in very good condition. It was manufactured by Utah Pottery and was probably made between 1850 and 1899. It is white and has raised detail around the top and on the handle. Then it has delicate blue flowers on the front and the back which are very charming and different that the usual white pot. It is in very good condition with no chips or cracks. It does have some hair line cracks on the inside bottom. It weighs about 3 1/2 lbs. The diameter around the top is approximately 8" and it is approximately 5 1/2" tall. Great for the collector! I have used it in a guest bathroom with towels. Shampoo, soaps, etc. I have received so many compliments on this very old and unusual piece! Would be a great conversation piece for a Bed and Breakfast!
