RARE Antique Black Forest University of Texas Longhorn Cuckoo Clock ESTATE, This listing is for a large. Beautiful, working, vintage German cuckoo clock that belonged to my grandfather, H.J. Lutcher Stark of Texas. He not only graduated from the University of Texas in 1910 but was credited with naming the Longhorns. He served on the Board of Regents for 24 years, serving as chairman for 12 years. The diameter of the clock face is 6" As you can tell from the pictures of this rare clock, a longhorn replaced the original stag at the top of the clock. The clock is made of solid wood and has beautiful carving detail. The pendulum has the rounded branch over the leaf. The clock tick-tocks and the cuckoo comes out on the hour and the half-hour. It has a mechanical brass movement. The clock measures approximately 25" from the top of the ... moreclock(Not the longhorn) to the bottom of the pendulum. Antique handkerchief Texas centennial 1836 1936 excellent condition
Here is an antique from Texas history. A handkerchief commemorating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the state. It is excellent condition for the age. On one close-up pic. Note some wear near the fold seam. It is not worn through, but it is slightly thinned. I did not want to iron the cloth or do anything to compromise it. The true color is shown in the first three photos, not the close-up. It measures 9.5 x 9.5.

ANTIQUE EYEGLASSES FROM THE SITE OF HISTORIC FORT ELLIOTT, TEXAS
Historic Fort Elliott(1874- 1890) was established to clear Texas of Indians. It was adjacent to Hide Town where hides were kept during the great attempt to rid the area of buffalo(bison) so important to the Indians. The Fort was manly manned by African American soldiers.Called Buffalo Soldiers, including Lt. Henry O. Flipper, the first black graduate of West Point Military Academy. Bat Masterson and other famous men were said to have spent time in Hide Town. These eye glasses are from the dump site of the fort. Just having been there makes them a unique antique. No attempt at cleaning them up. Oiling nor dating them has been made. They are as they came out of the ground. The lenses are intact. The ear pieces are rusted. They are fragile of course. Cleaned up or as is, they can be a wonderful conversation piece and a rare antique find.

This is from an estate sale from Oak Cliff. Which is a suburb of Dallas. It is the Detex watch clock that was in use during"the commotion" and was taken as a souvenir. The person who borrowed it had passed, and this was at his estate sale. It was a modest house, and the family members seemed very happy to be rid of it. It was in a box with a bunch of Kennedy memorabilia, magazines, plates etc. and some other ephemera. I still have the box. The paper tape is still in the clock. Or so I was told.

Antique Steel Toed Ice House Shoes. These were found in an Ice House in Hearn. Tx. Back in the day, men were required to wear these as blocks of ice are slick and often would be dropped. If you were not wearing these it could break your foot when it fell. The cool factor on these is off the chart. Really very interesting and in great shape. Vintage Antique Highback Saddle Ranch King ,Odessa Texas 14 inch Highback Seat
I have had this saddle on display for about 20 years. It is time to sell off the collection and downsize. When I first purchased it the cartouche was still legible. It is a Ranch King that was Made in Odessa Texas. I believe these were sold by Sears. I would guess this saddle is probably from the early 1900's. As shown in the pictures the surface is cracked but the leather is still supple. I have tried to maintain my vintage saddles with Pecard leather cream. Shipping are in the $30.00 to $50.00 range from coast to coast.

This is an antique copy of the 1836 Map of Texas by E.F. Lee that was published by J.A. James and Co. The process for the printing appears to be a gelatin silver print which would date this to the late 1800's-early 1900's. There are margin issues and it does have antique tape as shown in photos. This dates the map nicely. The fine handcoloring on the map is period to the map, this is before color printing. Fascianting, detailed and attractive period map of the North America. Printed on fine thick paper, with no printing on reverse. The map has some clean seperation along the middle fold, this is common in old antique maps, with one small about a quarter inch tear there. ANTIQUE/VINTAGE SPURS, Authentic, Worn In 100's Of TEXAS, OKLAHOMA RODEOS!
These SPURS were owned by a Cowboy who also happened to be Native American. From 12 rather amateurish photographs it's clear that these spurs were well used over the years. There were added to/adjusted in some way with Silver-plated wire to assure a tight fit. All original leather and fittings. Essential parts are made of brass; connections. Brads and rowels alike. The heavy, silvered steel is in excellent condition as are all fittings. I've looked closely but I cannot see a Brand name, MFG mark or any identifier marking; i may not know where to look or what to look for. Leather is not dry or brittle. One very small edge of one strap has a small spot missing, but it's not a condition that would prevent use. The leather straps are all originals, no repairs or replacements. The leather itself it no less than 1/8" thick and ... moremay measure 3/16" if a caliper were used. The leather was designed with tooling, but while the exact design is now difficult to ascertain, it seems to have been a fairly simple one. The darkening and natural patina of the leather had to have been helped along with sweat, blood tears! Plus whatever natural elements provided by the rodeo arena and the livestock. The buckles all work properly. While designers and collectors want real, working SPURS, they don't intend to necessarily use them. THESE could be used. again, if need be. Hopefully, the photos will help tell the story, but I'll take a few measurements and note them below. The Spurs were used in"saddle bronc" and BULL riding events in small rodeos in Southwestern, Oklahoma, and North Texas from the late 1960's through the'70's. The rodeo experience was over by 1980, and the SPURS became a decorative item. They're looking for a new home. These were used by a male"Cowboy" who was small to medium in stature and wore a size EIGHT man's boot.
