Original Primitive Antique 1873 Gray's Atlas Map Florida W/ Alabama Other Side I brought home a truck load of items from the auction last week. It was a farm estate. And I found some fabulous primitive antiques, as well as boxes and boxes of antique and vintage hardware that I will be listing for a long long time- someone clearly was a woodworker or dabbled in furniture creation or restoration. There’s something for everyone! This beauty did not come from the auction. But from a local small antique sale that I went to recently. The dealer had several(what once were) old book page maps, and I chose my favorite, and for where many of my customers live. This is an old map, and it is unframed, so you will need to frame it. What a wonderful display piece it will make for you, though! In most of the photos, I'm showing you the map how I ... morepurchased it- inside of a sleeve and on top of cardboard. We will leave it this way for shipping(of course we will pack, though- I didn't want you to think that I'd fold or roll it, I will not) This map is from the 1873 publication of Gray's Atlas. It has a map of Florida(with a plan for the Keys) on one side, and a map of Alabama on the other. I removed it very carefully from the sleeve to take photos of Alabama. The map is a nice size for framing- it measures 17" by 15, and it is in excellent overall condition. You can see that the paper has browned lightly- more so on the edges than anywhere. There's one small(1/8" carmel colored stain/foxing mark inside the Keys section that you can see in the photos- it's minor. There's also a light line that looks like a pencil line on the bottom rim- see photo 7- I did not try to remove it in any way. The long edges show some small nibbles/chips all over- especially on the side that would have been in the spine(photos 3, 4, 5) with less on the other side. All are small and very shallow- on the edges only. Some are recent chip offs, with the small pieces of paper inside of the sleeve- I've left them th

Up for auction is an original 1896 Birds Eye View Map of Pensacola Bay by Augustus Koch. This map came from the estate of a deceased Civil War collector. He had some really high end books. Artwork, etc. It has been inspected and it is 100% authentic and original. It was produced for Thomas C Watson Co, Real Estate agents in the Florida area. It shows great detail as most of Augustus Kochs maps did. When I bought this map it was allready matted and framed. But I removed it from the frame to get better pictures. It is an original map mounted to a board of some type. The matting was stuck in some spots, so I left it attached. It measures 45 1/2" X 34" I have since installed it back in the original frame.
