These maps are from such an atlas. Condition is Very Good, with some small tears and wear to the edges. Paper is clean and intact with some age toning. Maps themselves are generally clean, and any other flaws or marks to the maps will be noted here. Margin is untrimmed from where it was attached to binding, so is rough. Slight darkening to this edge as well. Most of these have been printed on both sides, and only the listed side is shown. Lots of age toning around the margins. Which just adds to the appeal of the old map. The paper is fairly fragile, so map page will need to be protected from less than careful handling. Note: the page was just a bit too big for the scanner, so part of the margin area is not shown. The right margin of the Georgia map is the same size as the left. Antique Map of PALATKA. FLORIDA. Civil War Confederate Richard J. Adams Up for auction is an antique fold-out map of Palatka. Florida from ca. early 1900's. Chas. E. Rowton Co. Stationers. Published by Sanborn Map Co. of New York. This map was discovered among the belongings of Confederate Civil War soldier Richard Joseph Adams. Adams served in the 7th Florida Volunteers and was Wagon and Forage Master. See more on Adams below. Approximate dimensions: 18" x 15" Unfolded. Condition: There are creases and tears. Some of which have been repaired with tape. There are notations written and colored in on the map. Please see the photos for additional details and the most accurate description of its condition. Richard J. Adams(Born in Cavendish. Vermont May 3, 1833- Died November 19, 1912 in Palatka, Florida) came to Palatka. Florida ... morein October of 1856 to assist his Brother in Law, Hubbard H. Hart on his Stage Line from Palatka to Tampa. When the war began, he joined Nathan Norton's Company(from which Capt. A.S. Moseley's company of the 7th Fla. Regiment was afterward formed. at Palatka, Florida, in 1862 and rendezvoused at Gainesville, Florida, on April 7th, 1862. But he was immediately detached as Wagon Master by Col. W.S. Dilworth, commanding in East Florida, to get blockade goods from the Indian River, and he left Gainesville on April 12th, 1862 without having been mustered into service. He was transferred to Company H 2nd Florida Cavalry when the Norton Company went to Virginia. He hauled mostly blockage goods to Lake City. But was present at St. Johns Bluff, where he saved his wagon when the Confederates retreated. He arrived at Olustee the day after that battle to assist with the wounded. He hauled machinery from the Federal Gun Boat Columbine to Lake City after it was captured by Capt. Dickison near Horse Landing. The Columbine was then burned to prevent re-capture by the Federals. On July 13th. 1862 he was ordered by Col. M.S. Perry of the 7th Fla. Regiment to report to Maj. H. R. Teasdale,
