This was purchased at the estate sale of a 103 year old woman whose family had owned a hardware store since the late 1800s. This was used in their store. The black metal parts have a heavy black japanned finish. I don't know what type of wood was used to make this but the curved wood part on top has a bird's eye grain. The wood part on top has a groove for the rubber ring with 14 pairs of loops for the fishing pole tops. There are 14 corresponding round recessed spots in the bottom piece of wood for the base of the fishing rods. Unusual must have display rack for the antique fishing rod and reel collector! Condition: It is all original and is in very good ... morecondition with all original parts intact. No cracks or chips in the metal and most of the original japanning is intact.some rubs and oxidation from use but they are pretty minor. Measurements: 33" tall overall. The bottom measures 11" in diameter and the top measures about 6 3/4" in diameter. The rack is easily unscrewed from the heavy cast iron base so I might ship the base separately if it will reduce shipping costs. Markings: None I have many other great items up for auction. Nice model of a Stratocaster. 1:4 Scale and has actual strings. Case overall is about 11" Wood base. Clear plastic display box. These were a short run because even though they don't have Fender logos, they were still caught up in copyright issues. Very well made and finished off. Has a pick holder, there is a plain one in there, you can put your pick of choice in there. I'm sure if someone was crafty enough they could scribble a logo on the headstock or small sticker. This was $35.00 when new. My wife grabbed 2 from Guitar Center for me. They had a limited# and she happened to be there when they brought them out. There was a rush and they were gone in about 5 minutes. I haven't seen one since I got these about 15 years ago. I have never opened the case. Vintage Woven Fishing Tackle Creel with Wood Peg Closure Wicker Nice for Display
Up for auction is a nice vintage fishing creel. No markings, that would look great on your wall or shelf! Measures about 15" long, 8" tall in back, and top is about 7" front to back. Top has the wicker hinges to body, not replacement string or cord. It doesn't have a strap, but I wasn't going to use some replacement from a camera or binoculars bag, as I've seem some do. The carved wood closure peg on top is about 3 3/4" long, and has original wicker closure loop. Somebody cut one of the strap holes on back a little larger than original, as you'll see. And the sides are a bit seperated from the bottom, but still quite secure- nothing floppy or loose there, just not tightly fit. Check all 11 photos and ask if you have any questions. Here is a nice old wood table top or wall hanging small curio cabinet display shelf. Stands 15 1/2" tall to the top of decorative piece on top. 13" wide, and 4 1/2" deep. Three shelfs in the middle with a PLEXI glass door, and sides are plexi glass also. Four wood feet are the same design as the finials on top of cabinet. I'm not sure what kind of wood it is. I would say the finish is a Cherry tone. Shelfs and frame is a good sturdy wood, the backing is a thinner type. There are a few scratches on the front plexi glass, I do not know if they will buff out or not.
