There is some very fine crazing to the composition on her face but there are no cracks and no lifting. The compo on her arms and legs has very minimal crazing and no cracks or lifting. She even still has bright red painted fingernails! She has composition lower legs and painted on black shoes also in overall good condition. Her clothing is original and is sewn on to the doll. Her dress is a peach/coral colored satin fabric with lots of lace trim. She has a net fabric slip that is stitched inside the dress to keep it full. Her bonnet is made with the same satin fabric and the wide lace trim is wired to help it hold its shape. It is fastened to her wig so cannot be removed. She was made circa 1920 and her hair style matches that time period. This is a beautiful doll and she displays great! She has been living in a non-smoking home and there are no foul odors. Please look at the pictures closely as they are considered part of the description. If you have any questions at all. Quimper Breton Brtittany Wooden Antique Doll Bench ??
I was originally told this was a Breton salesman sample circa the early 1900's. After doing some research I believe it is actually antique doll furniture. I make no claim to be an expert on these types of items and could be incorrect in my description. Please bid based on the photos and not the description as I could quite possibly have labeled it wrongly. This is a wooden bench that is 4.5 inches wide approximately 12.5 inches long and approximately 10 inches high. It looks to be in the same style as many other Quimper Breton Brittany antique doll furniture pieces. It is ornately hand carved and has a gorgeous carved image of a pirate ship. I'm not sure what the material is of the pirate ship carving.possibly bone? I just don't know. There is one crack in the wood on the right end of the seat. Antique Vintage Handmade One of a Kind Doll Quilt Very Nice! 17 ½ x 23”
Up for auction is a very old. Very interesting handmade doll quilt. The more I look at the fabric pieces, the more I love this quilt! The pattern is traditional, but the fabric pieces are quite special. I’ve taken a lot of photos so you can see for yourself. This cheerful quilt is trimmed in a tiny pink polka dot edging. This lovely doll quilt came from an old country farmhouse in the Northeast and has been stored for many years in a pet-free, smoke-free home. Condition: Very good condition for its age. The fabric is strong with the exception of one triangle of brown fabric. See photo# 12. There is minor fading of one blue triangle. The backing fabric is very strong. There are a few age spots on the back as well as minor pink dye run near one side. See photo# 2. No construction flaws that I can see. It is about 26" long overall and the body. Limbs and instrument are made of a grass or some sort of wood core with cloth wrapped around it. The white/cream colored cloth that the legs and head are wrapped in looks to be Mummy wrapping cloth. All hand sewn and likely hand woven cloth. In good shape with a few old repairs in the cloth and some loose threads but in good shape and ready to display. There are more and larger photos below of this great old piece. Antique American Miniature Chest of Drawers Hand Painted Decoration Early Doll
This middle 19th century chest is crafted of ash and walnut with thin pine wood backing and square nail construction. It measures 12 ¼” tall x 13 ¼” wide x 7 ½” deep and has lovely turned walnut knobs and lively side cuts at the base. The top and drawer faces feature red striped edges framing free-hand floral decoration in red and green under an original layer of golden varnish. The drawer fronts are excellent; the top has a split along the back edge. Round water marks and wear to the paint. This chest is fresh from a northern Indiana estate and has un-touched dirty surface. I don’t think the surface has been enhanced since the 1800s but you will note numerous round, wire nail repairs along the back rabbet into which the back slips with some splits and wood loss. These don’t affect the integrity of the piece particularly, but ... moreare worth noting. One of the drawers grabs a bit when opening and closing, the others work nicely. Antique Vintage Handmade Flannelette Doll Quilt 14 ½ X 20” Unique!
Up for auction is a very old doll quilt made of flannel or flannelette. I can just picture a mother fashioning this 14 ½ X 20 inch quilt for her little girl’s doll out of left-over flannel. One side is one whole piece of fabric and the other side is pieced in 5 sections. It is hand tied with coral colored floss. I have taken pictures indoors and out. In natural light to try to give you a true color. The background is gray with a cream print, which actually looks more ecru than cream. There are some age"shadows" more than spots, which some people say gives age character) but they are not pronounced as the print is more of an ecru color than what shows in the photos. Condition: Very good condition. The fabric is strong. Age"shadows" No construction flaws that I can see. This is a bisque piano baby figurine with a baby sitting on a pillow and trying to pull its sock off. Approximately 5 inches tall and 4 inches wide. Her blanket is wrapped around to the back of the figure and it leaves an opening which is probably meant to be a match holder. No makers mark but it is most likely German in origin. It is from a group of various Amish. Pennsylvania or Ohio Dutch, German" Figurines, which you can view in my other listings. The group consists of pieces made of different metals, some are solid lead, hollow lead, and the rest Cast Iron. When I tested each with a magnet, this piece showed no magnetism. Some of the others are Cast-Iron. The group is comprised of different metal cast pieces from different era's, however, of the 10 pieces- 8 are of Amish Figures. This appears to be Hollow-Lead Cast. Or a similar composite alloy. Unlike some of the mass produced later hollow cast lead pieces, this piece was likely not mass produced and more of an ethnic creation. Mass produced Hollow Lead pieces made their debut in 1893. My understanding is that many/most are German. There is also a parasol holder with a screw to hold it in place. Dimensions are about 40" long for the carriage with the foot rest extended and 36” with the foot rest folded back x 19" wide carriage and 24” wheel to wheel width x 36-3/4" tall(including handle) All four wheels have a diameter is 14” It weighs about 30 pounds. This buggy is in original condition with the exception of the newer upholstered side cushions. Those cushions need some attention as they are a bit loose fitting. The wicker is quite good with only a few broken reeds in the woven bottom seat along with some minor surface soiling. A slight warp to the foot rest can be seen in the photo above. Please check all photos carefully. And let me know if you want more. There is also surface oxidation and rust on the metal parts and paint loss on the handle. This circa 1900 antique doll buggy/stroller does not include the doll pictured. This piece has an iron frame work with wooden seat and footrest as well as turned wood spindles handle and arms. The back is made of oil clothe and has a tear in it. The buggy measures 10 x 17.5 x 24.5 high. This buggy could take gentle play but would be excellent for the collector or as a photo or stage prop. Wood, steel frame, hardened rubber tires, original upholstry is intact(beneath add on upholstry fabric c. 1956) This carriage is unique in a number ways. Some of the features include: a foot pedal brake, the carriage itself swivels on the frame, the bassinet rotates approximately 160 degrees, the base platform within the carriage has an attached hinged headrest support for range of movement. I believe all of these features are distinguishable from the photos included for this listing. I have examined this doll carriage thoroughly and have not been able to distinguish any markings, stampings or other discernable aspects relating to the manufacturer. When taking the photos, I attempted to display ... morethe carriage showing all pertinent characteristics that a potential buyer may be interested in. You will receive One Vintage Antique Wicker Baby Doll Stroller with Rickshaw like handles. The inside has a working latch that drops the bottom into a step for easy access in and out of the stroller. The top has two handles that allow the top to be lowered to allow the sun to shine in. The inside is padded. But does show vintage signs of age. There are no rips or tears in the black canvas, but there was an original repair done in one spot. The steel frame and wheels shows signs of rust and, but it still rolls perfectly. there is a slight bend to one of the handles and there is a small split below the center rail. Absolutely beautiful victorian baby or doll stroller. It has been restored. The frame is wood and metal(in excellent condition) and the upholestry is imitation leather. The back reclines and the foot rest extends for a sleeping baby. The whole thing folds up and the wheels come off easily. All the mechanisms work well and it has the original parasol holder. It is 33 inches from the floor to the top of the handle. The seat is 21 inches fully extended. The back rest is 14 inches. It is 16 inches from side to side of the arem rests. Fab Gloriously Detailed Antique Victorian Pin Cushion Doll Walnut Face Exceptional 19th Century Victorian pin cushion doll. Recently unearthed from an old Baltimore estate. I don't think she's been touched in many. Many decades. She stands about 7 1/2" by about 3" in diameter at the base. The glory is in the detail. And in the high period fashion. She's got a painted walnut(or some other kind of nut) face. Hair, a fancy silk Victorian bonnet with exquisite silk ribbon tie. Fashionable bustle back. Her fringed embossed silk shawl is embellished with a fancy embroidery stitch. Her dress is a copper colored silk, the skirt of which is done in the same copper silk as well as in a section of rich brown silk velvet decorated with a turkey stitch. And check out her little reticule purse with the hanky sticking out. Astonishing ... moreattention to detail. Obviously all original. Her hands are cut from what sems to be a heavy vellum.
