Dating from before the 1920s, these were very popular throughout Europe and are now collectors items. Stove has the backstamp A/B B.A. HJORTH& Co, Made in Sweden, Stockholm with the letter K and a 7 stamped on the base, I have just been informed that this is the letter for 1921. Tin measures almost 6 inches by 5 inches, and has the brass stove, injector and flame spreader, a little wind-shield, 3 legs and a spanner inside. There is also a gasket to seal the injector. There is an effective looking soldered repair to the base. In use, these ... morewere filled with paraffin, pressurised with the pump, preheated with a small piece of fuel soaked rag and then ignited. They would soon boil a small kettle of water or heat a meal. Vtg Marx Line-Mar Wind-Up Superman Roll-Over Tank M-25 Comic Japan Tin Turn Toy
This is a 1950's Line Mar toy is a tin tank and when wound up Superman pops up underneath to flip this tank over. This tank is winding great and rolls nicely but is not rolling over unless you pick it up and then superman pops right up as it should. The on/off switch may be the only hold-up on it flipping as I'm not positive how it works. All appears to all be intact except the rear axel and wheels. There are some scratches that are mainly on Supermans back from flipping the tank over. Overall the tank looks great and will display awesome. This is a check from Lake Pillsbury Properties from an account at The Bank of California. Signed by Jack Haley. Condition of check* This check is in excellent condition. No bends, no tears and written for a large amount- $2937.40 Jack Haley was an American stage. Radio, and film actor best known for his portrayal of the Tin Man in The Wizard of Oz. In the same film. He also played Hickory, one of the three farmhands that Dorothy, in her dream, re-imagines as the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion, respectively. Did you know? Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer hired Haley for The Wizard of Oz after another song-and-dance comic. Buddy Ebsen, who was originally ... moreset to play the Tin Man, had a near-fatal reaction from inhaling the aluminum dust makeup. This character was known as the Tin Woodman in the original book. The makeup was switched to a paste, to avoid risking the same reaction for Haley. The new makeup did cause an eye infection which caused Haley to miss four days of filming, but he received treatment in time to prevent permanent damage. Haley did not take to the makeup or to the discomfort of the costume very kindly. When being interviewed about the film years later by Tom Snyder, he remarked that many people had commented that making the film must have been fun. Haley's reply: Like hell it was; it was work! Haley died of a heart attack on June 6. 1979 in Los Angeles, California, aged 80. Only a short time previously, he had made an appearance at that year's Academy Awards ceremony with Ray Bolger, who had played the Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz. This little lithographed tin mechanical bank measures 2-1/2" x 5" x 3-1/2" high. The front door slides and reveals a tray to put the coin on. Push a button and the tray disappears and the coin is deposited. The colors are bright and it is decorated with animals all around. The top section is enameled brass. The footed base is painted tin/steel. The base is held in place by brass rivets imbended in the rear of the symbolic center ring. The bowl measures 10-1/4" diameter. It is in overall decent condition. Has a few issues: some scratches inside the bowl. Some nicks and denting on the rim of the bowl, some paint loss and surface wear around the bottom of the base. Still looks presentable. Wonderful Pansy Decoration on a lovely cream background circa 1950's tin canister. Nearly rust free. Great for Pantry use or any place you want to brighten up your storage. The red cover has a tiny dent but the rest is really great and as found. VINTAGE CHEINCO YELLOW TIN CANISTER SET WITH TURNTABLE COMPLETE SET
This listing/auction is for one vintage Cheinco kitchen canister set. It has 4 containers total one for flour. One for sugar, one for coffee and one for tea. The coffee and tea canisters are half as tall as the flour and sugar containers and stack on top of each other. The containers are formed to form a circle when positioned together on top of the turntable. Each containers has a plastic lid and there is one additional large decorative plastic lid that goes on the top. One of the plastic lids has a crack as seen in one of the attached pictures. The set has been used and shows some slight wear overall but is in good average condition for its age. The set fully stacked/assembled stands approximately 11 inches tall and is approximately 10 across. The incense is intact in cones and some has turned to powder- it all has a lovely scent. The superior fragrances are more uncommon to find. The design on this is quite nice.
