The proof medal is housed in protective plastic, which is attached to a commemorative cover. The stamp on the cover is post marked the First Day of Issue of the medal, July, 9 1970, which corresponds to the convening date of the assembly. Please note that the cover cancelled the first day of issue of the medal, not the first day of issue for the stamp attached to the medal. The medal and cover come housed in a black presentation folder. In addition to the cover, the folder also contains the pictured information sheet describing the history of the medal. Body, and Foot joints all fit together properly and the Crown is intact. One owner- flute has been stored since 1967. No dents. No visible areas on foot or body where silver plate has rubbed off. Minor hairline scratches to be expected on a 47-year-old instrument. The flute has been stored. Unplayed, in its case for over 40 years, so we are assuming the pads and springs will need to be replaced, but we could be wrong.
