Antique Gingerbread Kitchen Shelf Mantle Terry Clock company Clock
This is a shelf or mantle clock made by the Terry Clock Company. It is stamped on the metal for the movement"Terry Clock Company Pittsfield. MA" The lady I bought this clock from said that they had this clock restored to working order. It kept good time up until last week. We believe it's wound too tight. When you wind up the alarm side, the alarm keeps moving until it unwinds. The face of the clock is tin and above the six it has a circle with what looks like an S in it. The stenciling on the glass is showing some loss of color and scratches, but the design is plants and flowers with a woman's bust in the bottom left corner. It is missing the pin on the door that holds the door shut. The case appears to be in very good condition. There are no manufacturer's labels anywhere on the clock. To the highest point it measures ... more19" tall. The widest point is the base and it measures 12 3/4" wide and 4 1/2" deep. It has a key but it is not the original key. Where the screws hold the face on the clock, please take note of the cracked wood. We don't know the exact age of the clock, but we Googled the Terry Clock Company and found one that looks like it that was made from 1880-1884. Other than that, we know nothing about clocks, but we purchased another one that we liked better than this one, so we decided to sell it. This is a beautiful clock!

Gilbert Clock Co. No. 44 Shelf/Mantle Clock This clock needs some TLC! We are selling it as a non-working clock that can be used for parts or as a great project for repair. We will ask you to use the photos to grade and bid accordingly. The clock has its key and does wind but is missing pendulums/weights. When it is wound it does run but VERY fast and it does chime as it should on the hour and half-hour. When it runs it passes a half hour in about ten minutes- we are not experts but that may be due to not having any pendulum etc but if you are looking at this you may know the reason. The face is well worn and likely needs replaced and the cabinet casing does show sure signs of age with dings and scratches. The clock center is also beginning to separate from the bottom base. This antique Sessions gingerbread/mantel clock has a brass movement which is marked THE SESSIONS CLOCKS USA FORESTVILLE. CONN. It is also marked in black on the back which looks like CABINET P. HALF HOUR STRIKE, CATHEDRAL TURN BACK THE SESSIONS CLOCK CO. SUCCESSORS TO THE E WELCH-some of the printing is missing. It has a shining brass bezel and an ornate brass grill in front of the dial plate. The Arabic numbers as well as the hands are black. There are 3 posts to regulate and run the clock. The pendulum is marked S for Sessions. There is a broken piece of wood on the upper right side of the back which is about 3" x 1/2" at the widest part. See photo 6. ANTIQUE 1882 ANSONIA SHELF MANTLE CLOCK WOOD WOODEN GINGERBREAD CARVING WORKS
Being offered is a great clock. It is an Ansonia that has a pat date of June 13th 1882 on the inside works. It has its pendulum and key. It has been running for 24 hours now and strikes the# of hours on the hour and then 1 time on the half hour. I believe this to be an 8 day clock but not real sure and no markings. This beauty stands a little less then 15 tall and about 10 1/2 wide and 5 3/4 deep. It has a super look with the carvings and decorations much like the large gingerbread clocks. The face shows some wear which is typical for over a 100 year old clock. Love this piece and I am sure you will to. Very versatile due to its rich looks and smaller size. You could put it anywhere and it would look great!

Antique Waterbury Kitchen (Gingerbread) Clock- Model: Summit ca.1886
T his clock can be found in Tran Duy Ly’s book Waterbury Clocks and Watches on page 453. It is clock# 1721 and was made in 1886. In 2001. The author valued this clock at $300.00 if perfect. This clock is not perfect. THE GOOD: The clock is in good working condition and it strikes the hours and half-hours correctly. The gong sounds very pleasnat. There is an alarm mechanism which winds up and will work correctly if the control wire from the time mechanism is replaced with a slightly longer one. Use ordinary steel wire. There is a separate cup bell for the alarm. There are 2 labels on the back. The movement is signed Waterbury Clock Company and a patent date is given also. THE BAD: There are no hands. No pendulum, no key, no dial. The glass looks good, but is probably a replacement. THE UGLY: The case has many scratches. Dings scuffs, etc. ... moresee pictures)The top has been glued askew. The labels are missing pieces and have been covered with something to prevent further loss I suppose. Use this clock as a source of ever scarcer parts or as a restoration project. I have shopped for Antique Treasures for nearly 35 years now and this little gem of a Occasional table is one of the sweetest. Best condition and highly adorned tables I have seen. I also listed it as a lamp, gingerbread and Parlor table) For the purpose of this listing, I will use the description, occasional' for this table. I really want to keep it but I just don't have a spot for it and this table deserves to be put in a loving space. I purchased it today actually. I bought it from a sweet older couple from New York who now live in Palm Harbor, FL. The husband explained that it was his Grandmother's first then his mother had it. He said his Grandmother got it around the time she was married and he couldn't remember if it was 1897 or 1898. The condition is superior. It has been well cared for for 115 years by the same family. ... moreThe oak grain is beautiful and the only flaws are: on the bottom of one of the round feet. Someone cut off a section of the very bottom so that it would fit closely next to something.however, it still is level because they cut off only a section, not the entire tip(please see the last pic) The other flaw is that there is a hair line split on the top where the wood has a miniscule separation. I had to inspect closely to find this. This table requires no restoration whatsoever. Has beautiful detail in the grain. Measurements are as follows: Oval Top is 32.75" long x 18" wide 27" tall from floor to top middle decorative shelf is 7.25" wide x 16" long with scrolling lower 2 round shelves are 10.5" in diameter. This is an heirloom piece that is not only great to look at but also something that can be treasured and passed on for many generations to come. About New Haven Clock Company: Incorporated February 7. 1853, the New Haven Clock Company was formed by clockmaker Hiram Camp and others to supply clock movements to the Jerome Manufacturing Company, then the largest clock making operation in the world. Three years later, the Jerome firm went bankrupt and in April of 1856 the New Haven Clock Company raised an additional $20,000 and purchased the Jerome operation. By 1860. The firm employed 300 men and 15 women and was producing about 170,000 clocks a year. In 1866, the old Jerome factory was destroyed by fire, but a new brick factory was soon built which survives today with many additions. About Ansonia Clock Company: Ansonia was named for Anson C. Phelps who caused the Ansonia Brass Co. part of the Phelps Dodge Co. to be built here. Rolled brass became commercially available in quantity in the United States ... moresometime during the early 1830’s. After 1838 it had generally replaced cast brass and wood for making clock movements. Since clocks provided a market for brass. What could have been more natural for Phelps to do than to start a clock company in connection with the brass operations to use more of his own product. In 1851 The Ansonia Clock Company came into existence as a subsidiary company. It is probable from the clocks and data now available that even from the very start two firm names were used. Ansonia Clock Co. was one, and Ansonia Brass& Clock Co. was the other; both marked"Ansonia, Conn. It seems they used aggressive sales promotion methods, working on the premise that the more clocks made and sold the more brass they would use. Lovely Gingerbread Trim Salvage Piece Aged to Perfection. Possibly a header piece. There is a small missing piece. As shown in picture 2. Not too noticeable. Nice. Sturdy piece with the two side pieces just fitting together perfectly. No glue. Looks to be unfinished wood or possibly very light stain. Not sure. Many uses for this piece. Here is a Beautiful Antique 1800'S E.N. Welch 8 Day Key Wind Gingerbread Kitchen Mantle Clock in Working Condition. This clock was made by E.N. Welch Company out of Forestville. Conn U.S.A. The clock is approximately 21.5" Tall, 14" Wide and 5" Deep. As you can see from the photos most of the stenciling on the front glass is still intact and depicts a scene of a crane standing in a marsh. There are no chips. Cracks or breaks on the front glass. The back the original paper work for the clock. The key is included. As with most clocks of this age the brass pendulum is very ornate and beautiful. Elisha Niles Welch was in business with his father, George, who operated an iron foundry in Bristol, Connecticut. The foundry made weights and bells for clocks. When Elisha Welch formed a partnership with Thomas Barnes Jr. they named the company Barnes& Welch. The firm manufactured wooden-movement shelf clocks and was involved in business with Jonathan C. Brown and Chauncey Pomeroy. From 1841 until 1849. E.N. Welch partnered with J.C. Brown, who used Forestville Manufacturing Company and J.C. Brown of Bristol, Connecticut as company names. Chauncey Pomeroy was also a partner in these companies. The two factories manufactured eight-day clocks with brass movements. In 1853. Fire destroyed J.C. Pair of Antique Corbels Gingerbread Shabby Vintage Salvage
We are selling a pair of shabby corbels. These would make great decorative pieces as they have wonderful texture and form. The white paint is aged and chipping to reveal green paint and beautiful wood grain underneath. They are large enough to add architectural interest to a room or display. But are not obtrusive. Beautiful Antique Circa 1890 New Haven Kitchen Gingerbread Mantle Clock in Working Condition. Here is a Beautiful Antique circa 1890 New Haven Clock Company Kitchen Gingerbread Mantle Clock in Working Condition. The model name is on the back but we are unable to completely make it out. The Cabinet and Glass are gorgeous. The color of wood and carving are outstanding. The top crest has been repaired but done so in a very good manor. The movement chimes on the full hour counting down the hours. The movement is signed with the New Haven Clock Company Trademark. The front glass is in excellent condition with no cracks. Chips, or breaks and the stenciling is also excellent. The face has roman numerals and is surrounded by a brass bezel. This is offset by a very pretty brass pendulum. This kitchen clock measures approximately 22" tall. 13" ... morewide and 5" deep. This is an heirloom piece that is not only great to look at but also something that can be treasured and passed on for many generations to come. About New Haven Clock Company: Incorporated February 7. 1853, the New Haven Clock Company was formed by clockmaker Hiram Camp and others to supply clock movements to the Jerome Manufacturing Company, then the largest clock making operation in the world. Three years later, the Jerome firm went bankrupt and in April of 1856 the New Haven Clock Company raised an additional $20,000 and purchased the Jerome operation. By 1860. The firm employed 300 men and 15 women and was producing about 170,000 clocks a year. In 1866, the old Jerome factory was destroyed by fire, but a new brick factory was soon built which survives today with many additions. Their working force had increased to 460 men, 52 women and 88 children by 1880 and nearly a million dollars worth of clocks were produced that year. Antique Wooden Gingerbread Fretwork Standing Frame with Doors Damaged
I went to an estate sale. I saw this. Isn't it beautiful. The art and craftsmanship is wonderful. After I bought it. I realized it didn't have the right side. This is just too pretty. It measures 12" tall x 6 3/4" wide(counting the loss of side, and counting the flared bottom leg) The picture measurements are 5 1/2" tall x 3 3/4" wide inside opening. Let's start- the doors work. I love the tacks on each up/down wood line. The doors are held on with wooden circles and wooden dowels. The door on the right top has a crack probably from what made the side break off. There is a crack in the main frame on the bottom left door hinge. Main frame- small piece missing off- 1) bottom left under hinges at bottom 2) top left# mark 3) entire right side of course. Back has stand that has been re-aligned. It probably came ... moreoff and couldn't be put back in same holes. Bottom legs look like thin cracks in them. Old wood is brittle. If you put a picture in and leave the doors open, others may not notice the right loss. I didn't. It is so ornate that I fixed on the beauty of the tiny carving then on the loss. It is up to you. Antique Ingraham shelf clock with oak case and pendulum. 15 1/4" tall, 14 1/2" wide, 5 5/8" deep, 5 1/2" diameter face covered with a brass bezel and glass. The case has a very old- probably original finish that is heavily alligatored but you can still see how pretty the oak is underneath. The face is also very pretty- stamped, embossed metal with hand-painted black numbers. The clock does not- the main spring is broken. We do not have the key, nor do we have the back door. One"ear" is broken and missing from the crest and the bottom section of molding is missing from the pendulum window under the face. There is a screw in the right end of the half round molding over the face which is probably not original. This listing is for an estate antique gingerbread mantel clock with alarm marked"Pat. June. 23, October, 6, 1874 F. KROEBER New York 5" This very old used clock was checked. Dusted and little cleaned by me. I found nothing wrong. Only that the paper on the 5" dial, and the paper scale inside the adjustable pendulum show it's age. The gass inside the door with a design is almost perfect. Clock is working well. Comes with an old metal key, maybe original. Alarm is working also but I still have to find out how to set it up. The chime is not chiming correctly, sometime it will even skip, I will try to find and correct the problem, the key for the alarm winding movement is missing. The wooden case is not bad looking at all. I see little splits in the wood, most too small for pictures. This over 100 years old clock looks very ... moregood over all. Antique Ansonia Clock Co. 31 Day Gingerbread Mantel Clock - Restoration Required
Clock is structurally sound with minimal wear. There is light scuffing to high traffic parts of the clock case including where the pendulum hangs and to the bottom of the cabinet. There is also some dust collected. The strange thing with this clock is that when I laid it down on its side to check into re attaching the pendulum. The mechanism started going, the clock chimed and seemed to be keeping time. Then when I put it back upright, the movement stopped. Which is why we are offering it for parts/repair. I was unable to attach the pendulum and the clock will arrive with the key, pendulum and a couple other goodies that I am un-familiar with. Clock measures 22" tall x 14.25" wide x 4.75" deep. I purchases this clock at an Estate Sale. It has a key. The springs click and wind, but the little lever that makes it tick, and some other things are not attached, and the minute hand just goes around and around, so I'm selling it as parts. Also the top wood has a crack going all the way across, like it has been broken before. This auction is for an American clock by Kroeber. 8 day strike. This is the model Occidental. Circa 1880. Condition: first of all. The clock is as I found it therefore is not cleaned neither polished. This clock needs to be restored. The two sides with the mirrors are missing. There is no pendulum neither the key. Original movement signed“Kroeber– New York. Pat. June 23 and October 5, 1874” seems completed with hands. Case has some chips around the edge. But no cracks to the wood or signs of damage or repair and has flowers decorating the glass door. There are no chips on the glass. There is still a partial label on the back. The clock is 24" tall and 17 ½” wide. This clock is hard to find and it is well worth the time and effort to get it running. It is an excellent investment clock! Here is a beautiful Gingerbread Clock by Seth Thomas. Circa 1911. This is the Capitol model. An uncommon model. The case is in golden oak and measures 23 in. tall by 15 in wide. The clock is in excellent condition with no cracks in the wood or signs of damage. The glass door is original and the stupendous design is the Capitol Building. Glass door is without chips or scratches. Original dial is signed“Seth Thomas” and it is worn. There is still a small piece of the original label on the back. It has the pendulum but not the key. ANTIQUE 1874 WATERBURY GINGERBREAD PARLOR SHELF CLOCK FANTASTIC CONDITION Here for auction is an early Gingerbread Clock nicely hallmarked Waterbury Clock Co. The movement is hallmarked with a patent date of 1874 with the numbers 5 3/8 and a K. The movement is in extremely fine working condition and just needs to be set up with the pendulum and start it swinging. The rod that hits the coil gong has fallen off but otherwise the strike mechanism on the movement is also in fantastic working condition. The original label is difficult to see because it must have been stained over at some point when the clock was worked on. If the stain can be removed there is a tremendous antique label still intact. The model label just above this is torn and very difficult to determine exactly what model clock this is. Overall this is a most impressive antique ... moreclock that ticks away as any I have seen. It is about 21"x14"x5" in size. The wooden cabinet detailling, decorative teal/blue florals on the glass door. Unusual pendulum all add to its beauty. It has a heavy paper dial, Arabic numbers, antique black hands, and two key posts. The key is not original to the clock- it fits thank goodness, and it was made in England.
